Tyutin's deal begins in 2012-'13: 4.0, 4.5, 4.75, 5.0, 4.75, 4.0. It includes a no-trade clause in first 3 years, a modified NTC in final 3.
solid deal...maybe not a huge fan of the NTC, but not hampering
Indeed. Hopefully, the team will not want to trade him.

"I'll have a chance to compete for the post of first issue. This is the most important thing." -- Sergei Bobrovsky, June 2012
This seems like a solid deal. The money looks to be about right. I also would have preferred to not have a NTC/modified NTC for all 6 years, but that isn't a big deal. He is a solid defenseman for us and it is nice to know he will be with us for a good while.
Good to know I can keep wearing my Tyutin Russian national team jersey for a good long while. He's been my favorite since the trade and The money may be a bit high but I think he will bring some stability to the line-up.
I was worried he'd cost closer to Wisniewski money. I am happy. Would have loved to go even lower, naturally, but I'll take it.
I dunno if Tyutin+Wisniewski will work out as a top pairing in and of itself - I still want a #1 anchor - but we've got two quality guys locked up for quite some time, and we've got a cap-and-money-saving contract in the offense so we can get away with a little extravagance.
Remember - when you're a hockey fan, it's not "reckless driving", it's "good forechecking".

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
I believe the CBJ will eventually regret the length of this deal.
I agree and actually spit water on my keyboard when I saw this announcement. Six years at THAT cap hit for a strong #3 d-man? Maybe if he was younger.... I like Tyutin but this is just getting way out of hand.
This is what I'm talking about overpaying every single player. One million more for a Seabrook or a Keith? Christ you might as well give Umberger six million, its a madhouse in here.
Very big fan of this deal. A little high on the dollar amount just because 4.5 per is what I think he would fetch during free agency; however I also feel 4.5 is a good amount to pay for what he brings to the table. I thought for sure he'd want to test free agency, but It's nice that he wants to stay here. I know he has had some turnovers in the past, but the fact remains that he hasn't had a lot of turnovers, it's just the ones he has had, ended up in the back of the net. If him and Wiznewski click we could have an adequate top pairing this year.
Not sure I'd go with the snoopy dance, Viqsi, but I'm ok with the deal. I'll say it again... Damn that's a lot of money. This isn't the same situation as throwing the money after Brass or Mason. He's a vet and we know what we'll get. We didn't get a home town discount on this bad boy.
