Not an available option. Besides, I'm closer to the attic than the basement.

Clearly I was always meant to stand on icy Scandinavian shores and solemnly watch the men sail off to battle, or something.

The welding shop has been pretty unbearable this week. Working 10's and 12's hasn't helped. Starting at 4:00 a.m and by 6:00 a.m, you're already grimy and looking forward to a shower. Ugh.
I feel for you, Vix. This time of the year, walking into the A/C at the house is the high point of my day.

I'm just taking advantage of the cooldown the rain has provided. I have all those fans blowing cold air inside while it lasts.

It has cooled down, but cold is a stretch.

Since that rain passed through, it has felt a lot better.

I am amazed they showed the restraint up there in apprehending that guy that they did.

Have to agree. Very few things in the news bring out the tears in me, but after waking up and seeing the extent of the horror this morning, I had to get away to the garage for a smoke.

Just found out that if the Ohio State - Michigan game at Progressive Field goes through and is finalized as it should be soon, my team is also going to be playing on the rink against Kent State in a battle between the 2 local Cleveland ACHA D1 schools...I'm pretty damn pumped...gunna be sick. Who knws how to sew?....gunna need a hockey sock hat for over my mask a la Ryan Miller. ha.

Had arthroscopic surgery yesterday on my kee and have 4 weeks to get 100% before training camp kicks off. ACL is 40% torn but I have a brace that should help me play on it.

Mentally how can you recover though? Wouldn't you be scared about it being injured, reinjuring it, etc.?

That's where the brace comes in. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable without it. I got measured to get it custom fit, and the doc said he knows several pro goalies use the brace as well.

Sure my ACL could pop on me at anytime now, and I'm sure it will be a struggle getting it out of the back of my mind...but it beats the alternative of having surgery now and missing my entire senior year.

Are you electing to do surgery after the season ends then? I would imagine you can't avoid the surgery and it has to be done at some point.

Yeah I need ACL Surgery too, and I'm going to wait till my season is over (or possibly even until May after I graduate) to get it done.

Having a bum leg next summer wouldn't actually be too bad since I plan on studying for and taking the CPA Exam next summer anyways. It'll force me to open up the books

Where do you play at? Just having moved to Cleveland, I will have to come support a fellow HF'er.

I hope everything holds out until then, and then I hope the surgery goes smoothly. Those things tend to be routine anymore.

To paraphrase the old line: routine surgery is what's done to someone else!

This is Post #11,111.

I maintain that this is somehow of significance. As soon as I find out what, I'll get back to all y'all.

EDIT: Commemorative screenshot!
