And finally, the Checkers are rewarded with being on the right end of a shut-out. 5-0 win @ Hershey. Blanchard, Bowman, Terry, Rodney, and Dalpe the goal scorers while the D only allowed 20 SOG's. This puts Charlotte 70 points in the standings, still 3rd in the division.
Charlotte fell in a SO to Syracuse tuesday night. Now there will be 3 games in a row starting tonight against Conn @ home, @ Norfolk on Friday night, and back home against Conn on Saturday night, now the Bobcats have a home game Friday night, but I don't get why the game tonight wouldn't get moved to Sunday where it would get better attendance, unless there is something going on at the TWC I don't know about. Believe the Sat. night game will be televised. (100th post marker)
I would say yes, he's got 25 goals so far this season compared to 17 last season so he's on pace to possibly double that, I like his game, he's fast and some nights he reminds me of this seasons Erik Cole. Had this nice goal back in November http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-lrl69bub8
He'll probably start getting call-ups next season assuming he doesn't make the roster in camp.
Tonight, the record setting crowd of 12,512 on opening night this season was broken with 12,933 in attendance. Kiss of death you might ask? not so tonight, Checkers get the win 1-0. Matthew Pistilli, who has been on a role lately in scoring goals, sorta like Jay Harrison, got the lone goal in the 2nd on a PP.
Checkers two back in standings from 2nd-place Hershey. 76 total points.
Riley Nash scored on a beautiful centering pass by Micflicker to tie it at 1 in the 1st. Zach Boychuk then tipped a Casey Borer point shot to take a 2-1 lead that lasted about 10 seconds. P-Bruins scored three unanswered to win 4-2.
Drayson Bowman hits like a truck. (He completey laid out Stefan Chaput at center ice in the 1st).
Mike Murphy really has potential to be a #1 NHL goalie someday. If he had any defense.... (Game could have been a laugher early if it weren't for Murphy.)
