-Chu Chai 4088 St Denis St Excellent veggie place... the dumplings are just amazing!!! Chu Chai is a 100% vegetarian restaurant which features traditional Thai dishes prepared with imitation meats or tofu. Almost every dish is vegan, except for a few which contain eggs.
It turns out this is the place my friend went to. Here's a description of something she had there:
"the best I had there was the appetizer … it was a leaf.. from a tree I have no idea what it was.. but on it you had roasted coconut flakes, ginger comfit, a small piece of lime and a cashew.. you rolled that in the leaf and ate it … WOW the taste was indescribable… It was sooooooooooooo good… one bite was enough… lots of flavor.. soooooo good I think if I ate 2 it would’ve ruined the experience."
I was trying to find this Chu Chai restaurant online... couldn't find like a priced menu. Any idea how expensive this place is?
I heard about a restaurant called des jardins. Someone was telling me it was amazing (even for vegetarians) but I couldn't find anything about it online. Anyone know where this place is?

Thanks again everyone!
It's about 14-18 for a main course if I remember correctly. It's also a bring your own wine type restaurant. For the other one you mentioned I'm not sure.
So I'm heading to your find city this Friday night (arriving around midnight) plan on going out right when I get there to clubs/bars.
Saturday I'm thinking of going to La Ronde for a few hours (have a Six Flags season pass anyway and Goliath looks awesome), then the Casino for a few hours (hopefully) then going out again for Saturday night.
Hey my friend and I are coming out from Regina on Nov 18th for the Habs vs leafs game on November 20th and I was thinking about getting a small tatty on my calf while in town. What are some good tattoo parlor's in downtown close to the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth hotel? Preferably in walking distance. Also would it be wise to start calling and seeing if it is at all possible to get a time booked?
I know it's not Montreal, but I'm taking my girlfriend to Quebec City in a couple of weeks for our 3 year anniversary. Wondering if anyone knows of a nice B&B in old quebec, and also if anyone can recommend some fun activities and/or nice restaurants.
I'm wondering how Priceline Negotiator works in Downtown Montreal. I've had a ton of success using priceline in Boston and Denver. I'm wondering how it works for Montreal. I'm coming up for the Bruins game in January.. I'm wondering if I should play it safe and pay going rates for a hotel.. Or if I should try to save a few bucks.. Does anyone have any experience using this tool in Montreal? I'm thinking about clicking Montreal, 4 stars, and starting my bidding at 60 bucks a night.. I just don't want to get stuck far away from the action..

Priceline works fine. If you choose "Downtown Montreal" and 4-stars, your hotel will likely be the Sheraton, almost directly across the street from the Bell Center.
3 stars will get you the Delta or another hotel along Sherbrooke St. Also very well located.
Dunno if you'll get 4-stars for $60. I paid around $90 or $100, I can't remember. The Delta was around $70 if my memory serves me well.
It's a crap shoot though--let me know how it goes.

I was going to start at 60.. I have alot of time. so I will increase my bid by a buck or two every 24 hours til I get it.
I love that website. I saw the list of 4 stars in Montreal.. Are all of the listed hotels within walking distance of all the fun Montreal offers?
I could always just stay at the hotel novetel.. I stayed there last time and thought it was a good location.. Right across for the Belle.. Right now expedia has it @ 115 a night... that's pretty fair..
I'm just trying to bring down the cost of the trip as much as possible.. I'm currently laid off..

Ask yourself how much you're willing to walk from hotel to game
Betterbidding is showing Hotel Gouverneur as the hotel of recent bids for 67$
That's quite a walk to the Bell centre... maybe 20-30 minutes. Basically this would prbly the fartherst you will stay in pricelines Area 5 (Downtown).
I guess my question is.. Of these hotels.. Which one would be furthest from the Belle centre and all of the nightlife in Montreal?
4* Hilton Bonaventure
4* Hyatt Regency
4* Inter-Continental Montreal
4* Le Westin
4* Loews Hotel Vogue
4* Marriott Chateau Champlain
4* Omni Mont Royal Hotel
4* Sheraton Centre
4* Sofitel Montreal
If I stick with the 4*, will i end up in good area regardless?

Ya, Those all seem like good location.. Simply google map : Hilton Bonaventure Montreal to Bell Centre Montreal to see distance (select walking); Le Westin Montreal to Bell Centre Montreal etc..
But I don't think any are more than 10 min to Bell Centre
Wow..I don't even know where to begin for my visit to Montreal after looking at this list!
Coming up there the weekend of February 4-7 with my husband (he's a Rangers fan, I'm a Devils fan) and hitting up both games, but was looking for other things to do.
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any Nascar stores in Montreal? I know a few years ago in Old Montreal there was a shop there but they were closed last time I went because it was the off season.Does anyone know if they are open this time of year or what the store is called? Or any other shops that sell Nascar stuff.I am looking for Jeff Gordon stuff.
We will be visiting Montreal this Wednesday!!
Also anyone know anything fun to do with an infant in Montreal? We are taking our 5 month old up and just wondering if there is anything for little ones to do.
Thanks!

For Nascar, it`s still a B series race for another 2 years I believe, then the main circuit will come. So as far as I know there isn`t a dedicated store. But, any major sports store around Ste-Catherine Street(Main drag) probably will carry some Nationwide series stuff with Montreal on it with Napa AutoParts 200.
For the new guys, it`s better in summer, but it`s still worth it to climb to the summit of Mount-Royal. Still plenty of wild life on the mountain, the view of the City is great anytime of year. 5 Month`s is kinda of young, but the Bio-Dome is good also, it`s a trip around the world, you see Lynx in the Canadian section, penguins in the cold one, there`s also a rain forest.
Enjoy the City, that`s what`s it`s there for.
Here`s some links to above: Sorry Biodome is closed til Dec 4th.

Thanks. I've been to Montreal countless times (I can't even count the amount of times) but mostly to visit my dad in Coteau De Luc (sp?). I just have never seen a NASCAR store so thought I might have missed it.
Thanks for all the info.
EDIT: Also I must ask. Do you mean the "main circuit will come" as in stores or races? If Sprint Cup comes to Canada to race I will trip out in a good way
