I discovered the restaurant "Chez la mère". The best fast food. Their pizzas are filled with cheese, meat and vegetables, and their poutines are awsome ! Whenever I order fast food, I get it from there. http://restaurantchezlamere.com/

I agree that their pizza is good, but everthing else except the poutine is awful.

They make good subs. As for the rest of the menu, I'm not sure what they could offer. You might want to tweet @DeuxiemeJumeau and see what they're having for dinner tonight.

Swing by Brutopia tonight if you can stomach their average beers. I'll be there.

The beers aren't the best, but they're good enough. They're not too expensive and better than the macro stuff that the other downtown bars offer. I like the food quite a bit, though.

Small restaurant I found couple weeks ago. Caribean food, latino food. Bélanger/De La Roche. Name of the resto is Larimar. Really small, but yet it was awsome. Very good price. They only have one sort of wine but hey, idc, the food was great.

I enjoyed it, safe to say. Although bartenders here are dicks when it comes to asking for ID. People say Halifax is a university student town. I checked out bars like Durty Nellys and Five Fishermen.

Halifax is the nicest town of the East Coast I miss being able to walk in the Harbour, or hanging around the Citadelle.

My step father goes quite often on business so maybe I'll join him one of these days. I am definitely more of a 'city' guy than a 'town' guy, though.

The poutine scene didn't seem to be great, though, from your description

Actually Halifax (and Dartmouth) have a couple of poutine joints. They also have the usual Smoke's Poutinerie but I hate Smoke's. Halifax is more of a donair place anyway.

The most redeeming thing about Halifax = donairs. They taste so good over here. I had one and fell in love.

Any of you went to Loup-Garou ? Pretty nice place, cozy and really really great people.
