Ott - NJ

Ott: Zajac

NJ: Cowen,Foligno,3rd RP

NJ gets two solid Prospects while shedding salary...

Ott gets a 2nd line C they need...

Spezza
Zajac
Fisher
Smith

That would be sweet 4 C

Trade Kelly to free up more cap space for picks or prospect....

Try no chance in h-e-double hockey sticks. Zajac is good, but not so good we're giving up Lidstrom Jr. (who is still on an ELC for crying out loud!), Fish, AND taking on a salary dump!

Not taking anything away from Karlsson but that is a very bold statement.

Please don't say that.

Optimistically we can say Dan Boyle jr.

Travis Zajac is NJ's top C who's had back-to-back 60 point seasons and is only 25!

I'll stand by my statement saying.

Zajac >> Fisher

I'll knock of a > to make you happy

Fine...

Karlsson >> Zajac

But seriously, I'd prefer to keep Karlsson.

naturally, and we would prefer to keep zajac. i dont think a deal for zajac to ottawa can happen because spezza would need to be coming back. moot point, no discussion needed

Yeah, it'd be sick to have Zajac, but I don't do the trade in the OP.

Is Zajac good? Yes.

Would I do the above deal? No.

It doesn't make sense need or hockey wise, not to mention that the assets giving up are potentially more valuable than a center to play between Spezza and Fisher.

Good, because neither would the Devils. Zajac is not going to be the one moved to clear salary, I thought that had been made clear by now.

I don't think either team does this.

Ottawa needs Cowen to become the premiere shutdown D he has the potential of being - he's really not that far away from that already.

Zajac is a part of NJ long term - they're looking to unload players like Rolston and Zubrus.

Zajac is a BARGAIN. Why is it such a difficult concept to understand? Parise (for argument's sake because his name comes up too much too) and Zajac are like BMWs and Ferrari's being sold for the same price as Toyotas and Nissans. Why the **** would we want a Ford coming back?

For the nth time, the Devils will not trade Zajac as a salary dump. The only way Zajac is dealt is if another equal or better center is returning.

The Devils are far more likely to waive any combination of: Salvador, White, Zubrus, Langenbrunner, and Clarkson--- than they are to trade their first line center who happens to be centering two of the league's top 7 wingers.

No way New Jersey would do this. They will find another way to shed salary.
