All these accolades and I failed to mention his 18 game point streak.(goals in 13 of those)
Also, he's got 3 fewer goals than he had all of last year(65 games).

Too bad he won't be AHL-eligible next year. He'll probably score 65-70 goals next year, even if he misses 5-7 games at the WJC.

I must give credit where it is due, Linden Vey has 24-34-58 in 34 games. On pace for 51-72-123

Nic Dowd named the MVP of the Florida Hockey Classic after posting a goal and three assists in the two games. Roe also had a nice weekend with a goal and two assists.

While most are in juniors or AHL still, it appears DL has made some great non-1st round picks.

*Simmonds- 2nd
Toffoli- 2nd
Voynov- 2nd
Deslauriers- 3rd
Vey- 4th
*Martinez- 4th
*Loktionov- 5th
Kitsyn- 6th
Kozun- 6th

*played in NHL

I know we give DL a lot of credit for the drafting but I think we need to the scouts he hired and the Scouting Directors, Futa and Yannetti. Since DL hired them and gave them control they have drafted better each year....

Sort of the point i'm making.

Bernier- 18 NHL Games
Lewis- 40 NHL Games
Doughty- Home run
Teubert- 0 NHL Games

You can't really hold the last 2 against him, yet.

Dean's strengths are in the late rounds of the draft

He took most of his first rounders with every intention of letting them grow outside of the NHL.

Another strong game from Nick Deslauriers! Two apples + the first star in a very important 4-2 win. This win put the team in the 4th seed now! 2 goals, 3 assists, 5 points in 3 games since his comeback, +4, 16 shots on goal, 7 hits.

Schenn, world jr MVP, injured shoulder vs. Switzerland and got shots for pain after that. When he heals, trade to Saskatoon is likely.
Not surprised..

Toffoli with 2 assists on the night, runs his point streak to 21 games.

Multiple points in 11 of 13.

Weal isn't looking too shabby either, and most think he'll be at the WJC next year.

Kings prospect Brayden Schenn, voted the most valuable player of the world junior championship despite Canada's loss to Russia in the finale, has a separated shoulder and won't be able to play for 10 to 14 days, General Manager Dean Lombardi said Thursday.

Only two weeks for a separated shoulder. Tough kid.

According to the main board, Kitsyn is going back to the KHL after this season. Weak.

It looks like Brayden Schenn might play longer in the WHL than Kings fans had expected.

http://www.saskatoonhomepage.ca/inde...645&Itemid=422

There was a similar article in the print edition of the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix but it wasn't posted online.

My question regarding this is do the Kings have any say in this? As a Blades fan this would be great and probably the missing piece to a long playoff run. As a Kings fan, I wonder about playing for Lorne Molleken. From what I understand is he is the type of coach who plays his players for his own glory and not their development. If the Blades acquire Schenn, I could see Molleken pressuring him to play before his shoulder is completely ready.

I can't imagine him taking a risk like that. I don't know much about politics of hockey but, I imagine that CHL coaches defer to NHL coaches/GMs and tread lightly around them.

Either way, Schenn would power through
