I'd sign Z. Michalek at $4m in a heartbeat. He's an outstanding defenseman and tremendously underrated.

Similar playing style to Anton Volchenkov / Komisarek. Very useful player to have on your club.

Spacek was horrible, but...maybe he knows better than others what the meaning of a preseason game it. No point in risking further injury when you are a veteran with a guaranteed job.

Should he do the same in the real games, or worse, in the playoffs I would throw him to the lions too.
These guys dont care. Remember moen last year in the pre season? It was the same deal.

It's a transition year on blueline as far as i'm concerned. Gill+Hamrlik=UFA, Spacek 1 more year, subban, weber, carle, o'byrne, gorges etc are all relatively young and markov is a stud. Not complete, but the basis of our d-core WILL be younger and mostly on upswing.

**** yes.

He's underrated offensively as well, he would have been a great piece on our blue line.

Maybe they should care more and help Price win and get his confidence back.

I was talking about the guys here who are ready to execute Spacek

As for Price, he has been searching for his confidence since the 09 all star break. We've seen flashes ever since, but nothing consistent.

I wouldn't worry about "costs" in exhibition. Experience has been gained for the kids, and hopefully Spacek and other vets are ridding themselves of the rust.

I'm not worried about the team. Once the A and B team scenarios are played out, the team will gel just fine. Not worried at all.

If the stick came up around the eye, I think we would have heard about it by now.

Being it the pre-season, they probably just asked him to shut it down for the night. I wouldn't be too worried about long term ramifications.

Gill's a curious player. He was really good in the playoffs for you guys... but before that, I always thought him to be an "old NHL" type player. Big guy, not a lot of mobility. Has he improved his lateral speed in recent years?

Liked the energy some members of the team brought.

Spacek was brutal but I'm hopeful he will pick it up in the regular season.

Price had a good rebound game for half a game. lol. Then it was him being bad on the second goal and left out to dry for the other 4 after.
How is allowing 6 goals considered a good rebound game?

In Price's last 30 or 40 games including the playoffs, how many time has he allowed 4 or more goals.

After the 1st game people were saying relax, that it's only preseason after this game people are again saying no worries, it's only preseason.

Isn't anyone seriously concerned about Price being our no 1 goalie this year.
Last year we had Halak as an insurance policy and this year we have Alex Auld instead.

I think our forwards will be competitive this year as well as our defense corpwith a healthy Markvov and Subban.

Our goaltending but Price specifically is looking like our weak link at this point.

Anyone who denies this is surely blind.

I used to be a huge fan of Price in the beginning but the lustre wore off a couple of years ago.
