Great GDT WFOME! I'm gonna throw O'Charleys and Hardee's out there too for breakfast options...

Lines from practice Saturday were:

Erat - Lombardi - Wilson
Sullivan - O'Reilly - Hornqvist
Ward - Legwand - Dumont
Smithson - Goc - Tootoo

Kostitsyn took a Franson slapper off his skate at the end of practice, I'd surmise he's likely not in Sunday's lineup, but...Andersson might get one final look...

Rinne has been named the starter and is expected to play the whole game...

No idea. He took the puck off his foot from about five feet away and essentially went straight to the bench. He came out for the cool down stretch a couple minutes later and stayed on the ice for about five more minutes before heading to the locker room. He didn't really test it out at all after the stretch and was definitely favoring that foot.

Trotz mentioned that he was hit in his post-practice remarks, but didn't really provide an update. I'm guessing his foot is bruised at a minimum, but have no idea if it will actually hold him out or not. It was just one of those things you see and instantly know that the player is going to be in significant pain, but aren't necessarily sure it'll be much more than that...

Interesting lineups per Forechecker twitter

Erat/Lombardi/Wilson,
Ward/Legwand/Dumont,
Sullivan/O'Reilly/Hornqvist,

Which leads to a theoretical question: could a team roll just three scoring lines and use the other 3 forwards as special teams specialists?

I like the way the announcer just explained how Hornqvist was drafted last "but is expected to have a roster spot". And the other guy says once a player comes to camp you never know...

Then they mention Hornqvist did have 30 goals last year. lol

I was glad to see Dumont with the Leggy line.

Wilson to Lombardi with a good chance sounds like.

They just bagged on Klein for a turnover, lol.

God I hate O'Reilly. I don't see why the coaching staff keeps trying to force feed him into the lineup. Hopefully once he does nothing again today they will waive him.

Klein makes my head hurt... a lot more than my awful Jack Daniel's hangover.

Parent hasn't looked good either...

I think it's possible. Though I would hope Kostitsyn would be on the Legwand line instead of Ward if we're going for 3 scoring lines...

Man I wish this stream would stop showing replays during the play.

Ward plays what I call the dumas position. As in the dumas who stands in front of the goal as Weber blasts at it like the US Army does with artillery.

The speed players are split up on all three lines: Lombardi #1, Legwand #2, Sullivan #3. Wilson, Ward and Hornqvist on different lines. There is a playmaker on every line: Wilson, Dumont, and O'Reilly.

Pure and simple, the offense is spread out. In addition, the lines have a defensive player on each line.

Kostitsyn would be a great fit for legwand.

I really do wish Trotzy would have a speed kills line. Andersson, Legwand, Lombardi

I thought Suter, Klein, and Parent looked awful that period. Wake up boys!

Weber looked pretty great. I liked that Ovechkin getting fancy just meant Weber shoved him into a corner and took the puck.

So watching the game and our second PP unit is O'Reilly, Sullivan and Ward?

Wilson, Legwand and Dumont on the bench instead and we wonder why the PP sucks.

First unit was Hornqvist, Erat and Lombardi.

Ah yes....over half the power play spent in the other team's zone. PREDS are ready for the regular season.

Makes sense:

O'Reilly: Playmaker
Sullivan: Goal scorer
Ward: Screen for the goalie and rebound control

You'd rather have those three out on the ice as opposed to Wilson, Legwand and Dumont? Really?
