Anybody else feel like Biz is needed for the games against Boston. They have some real tough customers. Teams like this is the reason we have Biz, right? Not sure where he fits.

Wolski-Turris-Doan
Whitney-Hanzal-Vrbata
Upshall-Belanger-Biz?/Prucha/Korpikoski
Pyatt-Fiddler-Stempniak

I could see it. But Stempniak wont be playing with Pyatt and Fiddler, he will be with Upshall and Belanger. So I could see Pyatt-Fiddler-Biz for the boston games.

Biz doesn't have to play a regular shift to be a deterrent. Tipps can put him out on the ice if he deems it necessary. Biz needs only to dress.

They've had chemistry in the past, what makes you say they won't be together this year?

I know we all like Prucha, but I think it was foolish to re-sign Stempniak if we're going to deny him a spot with other offensive players so Prucha can make little offensive contributions.

Wolski-Turris-Upshall
Whitney-Hanzal-Vrbata
Doan-Belanger-Stempniak
Pyatt-Fiddler-Korpikoski
Bissonnette

"We all like prucha", he's been vilified here for weeks.

You complain about his "little offensive contributions" but then add Korpikoski to the mix!, Prucha is probably only good for 10-15 goals, Korpi has less potential than that based on his career stats.

I don't recall anyone actively hating on Prucha. I like him. He's a hard-working player who hustles and gives it his all. I just don't see how we can fit him in the lineup anymore without moving Stempniak to the Fiddler line, which I think is a dumb move. You could put him there on the Fiddler line instead of Korpikoski, but Korpikoski is a shutdown role, PK specialist which is pretty useful for a team that wins a lot of one-goal games. Also, he's a good shootout guy and we won 14 of those last year. I'm not sure Prucha's amazing 22 points in 79 games last year is more worthwhile than that.

It's Tippett I think that said he liked Stempniak with Pyatt and Fiddler.Who's to say that any arrangement lasts more than a game or two due to a poor display and/or injuries, then all this will be moot.

We have a group of guys that can play throughout the lineup which gives the depth that was missing last year plus we have Tik etc waiting for their chance.

People can be shipped out if they don't perform once Saturday comes, Tippett is no fool.

Not sure why u guys are so far off on the lines, they already confirmed Wolski moving to center to play with Doan and Whitney. They like the Czech line as is, and with Steps putting in 14 goals in 18 games, they will want him getting good ice time.

Doan - Wolski - Whitney
Steps - Turris - Upshall
Prucha - Hanzal - Vrbata
Pyatt - Belanger - Fiddler

watching: Biss/Korp

Tipps, has lots of options with quality guys sitting and in the minors, so i'm sure nothing with be in stone if they don't produce.

Whitney-Hanzal-Vrbata
Wolski-Turris-Doan
Upshall-Belanger-Stempniak
Pyatt-Fiddler-Biz/Prucha/Korpikoski

Lines will move up and down depending on who they are playing that night of course.
This is how i see it now but we shall see.

The coaches put a halt to wolski playing center, halfway through training camp for that he couldn't manage the defensive part of center.

Zitter every other lineup posted is substantially closer to what tips has said hell go with than yours.
The great thing about our team so far like you said though is with our depth and the mix of players we have there are a ton of options. Factor in injuries and I doubt we have the same lineup a few weeks from now. Still fun to speculate though.

How has Turris looked for you guys during the pre-season?
Do you guys still believe he has the potential to be a star in this league?

So the Coyotes play the big bad Boston Bruins in a back-to-back to open the season. It makes me wonder if BizNasty should be in the lineup. I watched close to 100% of the preseason, and I don't remember many bad shifts or stupid penalties, but I do remember more than a few times where I was really impressed with Bissonette's play and reminded that Paul is much more than just a goon/character player. I believe he had as many goals as Mueller when he was traded ...yeah I know more of a shot at Mueller....but hey there are a lot of goons who never score any goals.

Then I had this epiphany that maybe BizNasty would be a perfect winger for Turris ala Semenko/Gretzky. At least give them a couple shifts together and see if there is any chemistry, and if it gives Turris a bit more confidence....

Just thinking outside the box

Wolski-Belanger-Upshall
Whitney-Hanzal-Vrbata
Prucha-Turris-Biznasty
Doan-Fiddler-Stempniak

Oh, and it might be cool if Tippett starts the game with the Czech line.

What about your PP?
Is that set at all? Are Wolski and Doan both on the top unit?

Biz did look improved at camp, he had some impressive shifts. I wish he'd hit more but its preseason, hell probably pick that up when the real ones start. I think he still has some upside especially when you consider he just recently switched to forward. I remember a few times he let off a surprisingly good wrister.

Don't think our pp is set too much but doan and wolski will most likely share time with whitney hanzal an vrbata, maybe switching someone out with hanzal to give him a break since he's gonna see a lot of even strength an pk time.

OMG, do any of you guys even watch hockey?.... Doan on the 4th line and Belanger on the 1st?.... i admit its a crap shoot with alot of the guys being not legitmate 1st liners, but lets be serious here. Doan had 80 points (maybe 78) 2 years ago, he's our Captain and the heart of this team, If he isn't on the first line then nobody should be. As for starting the game with the Czech line, i'm sure they will.

Turris and Doan on checking lines? Wow, now that's thinking outside the box!

Who has time for hockey when we spend so much time learning the rudiments of HTML?

He performed very well in preseason, well enough to beat out Wolski and Wellwood for the only remaining center position we had. The answer to your second question is beyond me. All we can do is hope for the best.

Most likely. I mean we brought in Whitney, and he did well on the PP in preseason and back in Carolina, so he fits on either one of our wingers or one of the points (he played the point with the Hurricanes sometimes) Wolski or Doan can cover one wing, unless of course Whitney is on the point, then they each could play a wing. After that, one of Turris, Belanger, Hanzal, or Fiddler would play center, with the likely options being Turris or Belanger.

We have Yandle, Jovonovski, Aucoin, Lepisto, Morris, and new-comer Ekman-Larsson on the backend, all of which are capable of playing the powerplay.

Remember last year tip like matching hanzal vs the other teams top center, more times then not being there first line. Turris will need a physical line mate so he doesn't get ran over so i would think doan.

Like OMG! Do you watch the Coyotes? We don't have 1st and 4th lines... Tippett rolls with the line who performed best last game and then adjusts each line's ice time based on who is playing well that night, one night Fiddler's line will see a lot of ice time, one night the Czech line will, etc...

I'm not sure. But I feel that we will run three pp lines, just like parts of last season- Something like:

Wolski-Turris-Doan
Whitney-Yandle

Upshall-Belanger-Stempniak
Aucoin-OEL

Prucha/Pyatt-Hanzal-Vrbata
Morris-Jovo

Thats pretty deep for a PP and obviously if Whitney doesn't play the point you can put Morris with Yandle and then Slot in Lepisto with Jovo on the "3rd" unit

Pyatt-Fiddler-Bissonnette/Prucha
Korpikoski

Morris-Yandle
Aucoin-OEL

I would never refer to a line with Turris or Doan on it as checking lines. I do know that Tippett put Doan on Fiddler's line several different times last year....so laugh all you want. Also, there was this guy Gretzky who played on a line early in his career with Dave Semenko. That team was probably crap though.
