Mike Fisher's groin is hurtin'

From Scott MacArthur's Twitter:

Quote:
Fisher left practice early with a slight groin issue and won't play in Dundas.
Great. This is what happens when Fisher finally gets hitched.

Predictable. Let me guess, this injury will stay with him through the season and limit his effectiveness.

That's a guess I'd bet some cash on.

A Mike Fisher groin injury in pre-season is like clockwork, its not a true Sens camp without it. Not worried, it always happens. Its almost like the players need to adjust to the fast paced and their muscles aren't ready or something, you see a lot of groin injuries in pre-season.

I wonder if this is another bad-ice related injury?

Depends I guess. I suspect off-ice workouts are to blame.

Didn't see THIS coming.

Fisher has that broad skating stance like Havlat did. I'm not convinced it's good for the groin.

I guess Leclaire is due for a road sign to fall on his head or something.

Here's Regin's chance.

Should see Foligno-Regin-Kovalev now, right?

Well at least he won't have Fisher shooting errant pucks at his head next few practices.

If this injury has him out for a couple games, I hope this gives Bass a chance. He's been impressive from what I have seen. A 4th line of Bass-Smith-Winchester would be pretty aggressive.

Bass is way down the depth chart. There are plenty of guys ahead of him. I don't think he'll play in the NHL again unless he's traded from Ottawa.

Pfft, he's married and she's a career woman! it's more likely he's not used to using those muscles.

Sucks for Fisher, but Regin should be our #2 center anyways.

If it were any other player, I'd say this sucks.

But it's Fisher, so congratulations. Lucky *******.

Shocking, to say the least. Although this may be a blessing in disguise and allow Regin to take a stab at the second line center position. I think we could really have some serious scoring depth if we get Fishy down on the 3rd with Smith/Butler on the wings. Of course we would have to ship Shannon or Winne out, but I dont think we'll see many objections to that around this neck of the woods .

We'll see. He's certainly been solid this camp. Guys can fluctuate pretty quickly if they are playing well. Keller got a couple games last year, look at Carkner. I guess it would depend on the situation. If he is being put into a 4th line role, he'll have a solid chance. Top 6? Sure, probably not gonna happen, guys like Butler or Wick will get a look. Bass' problem in 2008-09 was he got injured, didn't rehab well and came into camp in brutal shape from what I have been told. Organization was not impressed to say the least. He's supposed to be in good shape this year and it shows. If he doesn't make the team, I expect him to get some games this year. The guy is used to the AHL. Let's see how Wick and Butler adjust to playing down there.

Keller got a cup of coffee because he was playing very, very well in Bingo. Leading scorer or at least one of the most productive forwards in terms of points. Bass will have to play well and do what he is there to do in order to be rewarded and maybe see some games in the NHL.
