He has been the best of everyone else competing for that role.

I'd like Kadri or Zigomanis in the 3C but everything else is as I hoped (except Kulemin's spot I guess and I'd like to see what Schenn would do with Dion).

What's the status on Shoe string (AKA Freddie Sjostrom)?

I wouldn't read too much into it, he said yesterday that he has it down but the last two center spots are the ones that aren't filled yet. He said Sjostrom and Armstrong on the third, Brown and Orr on the fourth and the centers were up for grabs.

I would fire my accountant if he said I have "pretty much" so many dollars in my account.

When I make pancakes for my kids the recipe doesn't say pretty much for the ingredients.

I don't answer "pretty much" when my girlfriend asks if I am satisified.
(and I think he meant just for tonights game)

So...no it doesn't mean Tim Brent is our third line centre to start the season.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's hardly a lock and I would not be surprised to see it change. Kadri will be given at least one more shot at it.

If I was picking the team I'd have Kadri there and work through his issues. I'm not and it sounds like he's going to the AHL. Out of Mitchell, Hanson, Brent and Zigo I see Hanson better suited to a 4th line role (lack of offense) and Brent being the best choice here. I think some will be pleasantly surprised. No future potential to speak of but a solid vet who will be responsible in both ends. Something we can't count on from Mitchell.

That made me laugh imagining a girl asking a guy 'Do I look good today?' and the guy going 'Pretty much'.

Bob McGill was saying this days ago, that nobody was paying attention to Brent, but he had a VERY good chance of making the team. Not surprised, he is good in both ends, the perfect third line guy, smart, knows the game.

I'd like to see what these guys can do. I think this looks like a solid lineup, but I'm unsure about Brent. Either way, he is probably better than Mitchell.

I wouldn't say Brent's the frontrunner, only that he's being given a chance... they're not going to ice the same lineup for the next 4 games.

Side note: This will be a complete disaster if we dont win (and dominate) tonight. We're problably going to see a partial Buffalo lineup, and outside of Caputi over Sjostrom (which IMO isn't that big a downgrade) and maybe Brent, this is our opening night roster.

Can we stop with the nonsensical hyperbole during the PRE SEASON. Geezus, some of you guys are ridiculous.

when wilson says "pretty much", that means "pretty much....other than the 3rd line centre".

Brent deserves a shot - he's been the best of Kadri/Mitchell/Ziggy so far in camp - not that that's saying much.

If you think Bozak, Grabovski and Kadri are small, you've seen nothing yet. Brent is tiny and plays tiny and his skating is average. Terrible choice even as a short term solution.
