hmm, alittle dramatic don't you think?

I'm not in favor of a hard cap, but to say that the NHL does not need some kind of cost controlling system in place is to tottally ignore the facts. The NHL is loosing money and the NHL does pay players too much acording to the league's income (the average NHLer is paid better than the averafe NFL player, and the NFL pulls in about 80 times the revenue of the NHL.)
Personally I'd be in favor of an NBA like soft cap, with more revenue sharing. This way, if you do build a dynasty you can keep it together (or atleast the core components together) but couldn't go out and pillage other team's players.

I'm 100% in favour of some sort of a cap. I do doubt that FA would go down to 25, some players aren't even developed yet, you want to raise money, thats how it would happen. Also I think that with a cap teams have to spend MORE money on scouting because they can't afford the luxury of extra cash over other teams to fill holes, but would have to do it within

I actually like a soft-cap that way you can afford to keep your core in place, but can't go out and load up on super-stars.

I think it is very likely that Larry Brooks is among us. Nothing wrong with that.
