From what most Kings fans post here, I would guess it's about 50/50 love/hate. I would also guess that if you look at fans over 25, it goes to about 90% hate it. (yes, I am over 25 yrs old )
Maybe amongst Kings fans but I must say that our third jersey gets a lot of love from our neighboring fans around the league. We are consistently in the top 5 rated third jerseys in like every poll. Everyone I run into seems to like it. I hated it at first, but am now starting to have it grow on me due to the positive reaction it has been receiving.

I loved what the Flyers did going back to their traditional orange uniforms. If the Kings went back to purple and did it right, the fans would love those uniforms as well.

I didnt like the current 3rd originally, but it has grown on me.
But if they went back to retro purple and gold, it would be the bomb.
I dunno, call me crazy but I always wanted something like this. Ignore the poor quality, I did it in 5 minutes in photoshop. I can't remember where I saw a really legit mock of it done.
Please no purple and gold, leave that to the lakers... looks like crap.

And I went as far as practically saying the same thing...but replace "5th grader" with "retarded 3 year old"...
Come on, everybody doesn't love the idea of the old yellow pants, yellow jersey's and yellow stockings with purple pipping? Marcel and Rogie rocked them pretty hard to name but two. Daryl must be loving it and don't forget Jimmy.

I used to say that the Kings looked like taxi cabs with legs back then... STILL the only uniforms that looked worse than ours came out of Vancouver... I'm still wondering if they glowed in the dark...
If they keep the reg jerseys and the home plate and add the retro the Kings will have 4 jerseys this year. Some of the new guys will never be able to remember what team they are on.
I'm sorry, I know a few of you love the purple/gold, but I can't stand it. Maybe it's what you're first used to (didn't get into Kings til I was 8 in 89-90) but I love the black/silver and absiolutely despise the purple/gold.
Of course, I'll get to see the Purple/Gold in person on October 9th, so I guess I better get past it...
Bringing back the purple and gold would associate the Kings with the Lakers to the audiences they are trying to draw. The Kings need to have their own unique look. Yes, they had that look when they came into the league. Yes they wore it for 20 years.
Facts are, the Lakers are the winningest team in North American sports over the last decade. Purple and Gold/Yellow are Laker colors now.
I don't mind the current home/away jerseys except for the lettering on the bottom..
it's the 3rd jersey. Especially the logo. I guess since they took out the lettering on the bottom for the 3rd jersey, they felt it was necessary to put it somewhere as a part of logo.. what they didn't realize is when the players stand next to each other, it looks like they are singing.. "la la lalala..."
If they incorporate what john's showing here with 3rd jersey, I think it would look a lot better..

When you have the freedom to design anything, why limit yourself to a RBK template?
Forget what RBK has done, and look at the history of NHL jersey design.
Were "old jerseys" really that bad that RBK (you know, with their long association with the NHL) gets to determine how jerseys look now? I really don't think so.
The current third is by far my least favorite, although I wouldn't say I hate it. It's the crest more that the color scheme. Although, I really do like to keep some sort or purple/yellow just to keep em OG. I would be all for something like this^^^^^^. I have seen someone around here with a similar design but sporting the newer style crown, I'd be fine with that too.
