Was this game going to be played at Sun Life?

I can understand the reason for this and on the other hand, I feel a bit puzzled as well. We are supposed to get torrential rain and heavy winds through the night, all day tomorrow, and Thursday morning totaling possibly over eight inches of rain and 50 mph winds, but it's nowhere close to a literal hurricane.

Most people probably wouldn't want to come out to the BAC in that and I've heard that the Hurricanes didn't want to fly down here with the expected conditions. It will also save the team money by not playing a game in front of maybe 1,000 fans.

However, this would be the first chance for hockey-starved fans to come out and see the team and this could have be the last game with the big club for a long while for certain players who need to prove themselves.

It's going to be a minor rain event and nothing more.

If the BAC would be sold out, then it might be worth it. But Carolina is going to Europe to open the season, and we sold 2,000 tickets. That won't offset the cost of operations, and with the year we're supposed to have, it's just another big loss of money.

This has very little to do with the safety of whoever. It gives management a reason not to do the game.

We've had some major flooding in areas up here, to the point where they almost closed 95 in the Melbourne area, parts of a major toll road through Orlando (the 408) actually were shut down. It's not rained too much there, yet??

I live about 10 minutes away from the BAC and it hasn't been too bad. It rained pretty hard last night but then it stopped. Right now it's only sprinkling outside.

That rain was from a separate Low pressure system. But still, the ground is now saturated. There should be a good amount of flooding depending on where the track takes the storm. Also, most of the heavy rain and wind is on the eastern side of the circulation, so it could be worse.

All tropical storm warnings for Florida have been discontinued...but alas, the game is already cancelled.
