Ryan centering Selanne looks awful, not sure why they changed that in the first place. Why promote a player to 2nd line center over a proven guy that has been doing that his entire career? If Ryan is going to be a center, he should not be doing the 2nd line. Fowler paired with Vis doesnt make much sense either.

This is an almost full defense, and all the puck movers are certainly playing. Doesn't bode well.

LOL 23 shots given up. That's almost a game's worth.

This is a classic early RC coached team......not much effort from anyone early in the season. I know this is preseason but the effort is just not there. Does RC just punish them too much in practice? Are the Ducks just plain lazy? They have not won any battles this game.......thats just a lack of effort and unfortunatly a hallmark of the early season of a RC coached team........

Honestly, I remember a lot of complaints in previous years about how grueling and dull practices were. Haven't heard much grumbling (yet) this year, but I remember quotes from IIRC Parros saying that he is just glad the season is starting because that means practices are going to simmer down a bit.

The audio in this feed is worse than the video on a KDOC feed.

This period will be better.

Everyone keeps mentioning the forwards, but the defensive pairings seem a bit suspect to me as well. Visnovsky with Fowler as someone mentioned makes no sense, unless the point is to send Fowler to the OHL and let him play with and learn from Vis until then (although he probably could from the bench).

Also, everyone was playing about as much in the 1st period. That makes it hard for the players who are used to play much to get any rhythm in the game.

No chemistry and no attitude going into this game. Few players seem to care tonight. Getzlaf was actually one of the players that seemed to backcheck the hardest to me.

Gotta feel bad for Visnovsky too. Playing in the 4-1 losses against Phoenix and Vancouver, and now playing here. No wonder why he's -5 in seven periods of preseason hockey when he plays 25 mins per game.

Hopefully Carlyle can wake them up here in the intermission.

It's a preseason game, what's with the overreactions and fire Carlyle posts already? I do agree, however that Ryan and Selanne won't work. Hopefully they don't continue with that experiment into the season.

Yes, it is pre-season, but I swear that was one of the worst periods of Duck hockey I have ever seen.

I know it's pre-season, but I don't like getting dominated by Kings :p
