I can't say I am shocked about Cameron... he is undersized and not a good skater... he may have a great shot but it doesn't do you any good if you can't get alone

as for Wahl I'm not worried... remember how Backlund was asked to focus on his defensive game in his time with Abbotsford last season... wouldn't shock me if they are doing something similar with Wahl... I also notice Wahl has missed 3 games already... perhaps he has an injury that is affecting his offensive ability

Heat signed Quintin Laing to a PTO, and should see his first action tomorrow night against Providence. Laing was previously in the Capitals organization, so hopefully he can bring some much needed veteran experience to this young team. It's nice that he got picked up the same week that we were discussing the need for another vet over on the team facebook page.

This is certainly a season of growing pains for the team. It's unfortunate that they have to go through this phase, while simultaneously trying to build a strong fan base. It's been a Jekyll & Hyde sort of season thus far, particularly in the difference between the first and second game sets at home. It very much seems to be the case many times, especially at the season openers with Rockford, that the team is near lifeless and mauled on Friday, only to come back and either win or barely lose on the Saturday.

Bancks and Nemisz have been two of my favourites to watch, and I am happy to see Keith doing well with the team. Leland Irving has to be one of the most frustratingly inconsistent goalies. I've seen him be stellar some games, and look like an emergency fill-in the next.

Wahl has been a healthy scratch the last three games. A bit dissapointing, but he is a first year pro and probably not a bad idea for him to watch a few games from the stands. Hopefully he can get it going once he gets back in the lineup.

In Leland Irving's last 10 starts, he hasn't allowed more than two goals in any game. He's been playin' really well as the starting goalie in Abbotsford.

Unfortunately he was taken out of the net before I could even find my seat yesterday!! He let in 2 goals right away and was pulled. Brody had a busy night as he was out there for what seemed like the whole game.

Heat won tonight at home, a 3-2 SO win over the Lake Erie Monsters.

Goals by Bancks and Meyer.

Keith with the SO winner.

Looks like Irving is playing well. Good to see Pelech back, and scoring a goal.

He's now miised/been scratched 16 of the last 18 games. With the latest reinforcements being sent down (Meyer & Stone) I'm not sure why they don't send Wahl to the ECHL for a stint. If he is not injuerd I think it is safe to say he has fallen off the depth charts for the time being.

Even more impresive when you look at how the other goalies have faired. Glad to see Irving stepping up and rebounding from an average year last year.

interesting, first Boyd now Wahl, good job with all the "skilled" draft picks.

No wonder Sutter is sticking to the thugs

He's been injured for all those games. There was some false information that he was healthy scratched when really he was injured. Came back for I believe 2 games and got absolutely cranked and is out again. I believe you can find the hit somewhere on youtube.

if by fall off you mean had his head knocked off with a blindside then yes he has... how does someone that claims to have inside information not know about Wahl getting laid out?... thanks for verifying you are a fraud

Excuse me?

I wasn't sure if he was scratched, which is why I had said "if he is not injured", and I have never claimed to have any sort of "inside information"....Thanks for verifying you're a dick.

From what I see from the video that was not a blindside hit.

Totally. I hope Irving can have a solid season down the stretch and challenge for at least the backup job in Calgary next season.

Heat won 1-0. Ryan Stone scored from Brodie. Leland Irving is just killing it right now!

TJ Brodie looks to be rounding out nicely and adjusting to the AHL, he is 3rd in team scoring with 14 points in 28 games and he has a +2 rating. Hopefully his development continues to improve. I am still really excited about this guy.

You gotta think he'll be able to crack the lineup next year.

Rumour is that Backlund is heading back to Abbotsford. Thats what happens when the GM signs too many players.

Backlund got sent down, and Mikkelson is down on a conditioning assignment. Quintin Laing was just named the captain.
