ice quality and hollow question

So during the winter, I assume the ice becomes a little more harder (compared to summer). Would you go to a deeper hollow or more shallow in this case? Or just stay the same? I was using a 1/2" during the summer.

You would want to go a little deeper if you decided to change. But if you're getting all the control you want with the current hollow, then stick with it. You want your hollow to be as shallow as you can get while still retaining as much control as you need.
