Winning the Art Ross and the Pearson over a grueling 82 game season would never trump even a silver medal by some obscure biathlete, unfortunately.
Isn't Lidström nominated for best male athlete of the year? He should seriously get some recognition, he's the best swedish hockey player ever for crying out loud! Not counting on it though.
Lidstrom has never won any of these awards right? Yet, he is perhaps the best hockeyplayer this country has ever produced and hockey is perhaps the second biggest sport here........
I am not bitter, it must take much grit to ride around on a horse all day, wearing fancy clothing and sometimes get dirt on the trousers, no I am not bitter, etc...
Whatever. Although I was 100% sure Hellner would win. Skiers usually win. I don't have a problem with Sedin not winning. Individual prices like these shouldn't be given to players in team sports.
