no point in burying young guys on the 4th line and having them set. Let them play in the AHL.

Yup, but I love the way the Sharks are rewarding the young hopefuls that are doing well. Wingels had a good camp and earned himself a trip to Europe, lots of practice time with the big club, and his first NHL start. Now they send him back to the baby Sharks where he will get a bunch of ice time to work on the specific things they told him he needs to work on.

It makes sense to send him down. Even if he stays up, he's just going to be sitting around and practicing until Saturday. Send him down, let him get some games and more time in and then bring him back up if it's called for.
