The Bold Predictions Thread

I saw one like this up in General and it got me thinking, what will the Dallas Stars do in the next 3-4 years?

Try to keep it in a reasonable time frame. Next 4 years, max.

Put your predictions for lineups, team success, team roster moves, contracts, etc. here.

My bold prediction is that Jamie Benn will become the new iconic figure in Dallas by season's end.

That's a bold prediction?

WCF's next season. Cup contender for the next few years after that.

Larsen turns into NHL stud PMD in 3 years, offersheet Brent Seabrook next July, youth progresses, Chiassson slots nicely into a 2nd line RW role eventually, Kari stays healthy, Stars sell, Richards signs lengthy deal and and and...

7th in the west 2010-11

A force by 2012-13

Win by 2014-15

Optimistic?

I think this team easily has the capability to finish as high as 6th in the west this season. I'm basing this on alot of things that could go wrong, sometimes badly, so this team also has the capability of finishing as low as 13th or 14th. It's all going to depend on Kari Lehtonen and the defense maturing to atleast playing not terrible. Improvement on special teams wouldn't hurt either.

Going forward I have alot of confidence in Joe Nieuwendyk to see this thing through to the end. He's going about it the right way. I'd say Dallas could be a legitimately tough team to play against this year and a solid playoff team, but going forward we should see the youth in this organization really come into it's prime and carry the team forward.

I'm not predicting championships because as we've seen with the Sharks most recently and earlier the Senators even the most talented and well constructed teams can fail to win a cup over the course of a decade due to simple bad luck. But I think Dallas can really become one of the top franchises in the league again..

I said by season's end.

Would you rather I estimate the lineup in 2012-2013?

Benn (A) - Ribeiro - Chiasson
Neal - Richards - Eriksson
Morrow (C) - Ott - Vincour
Gagnon - Wandell - Barch

Larsen - Fistric
Niskanen - Grossman
Nemeth - Daley (A)
Robidas

Lehtonen
Bachman

As in, I expect Glennie to be either traded or never make the team.

I wouldn't expect to see Chiasson until 13-14 at the earliest. But I guess that's why it's bold.

Anyway, here's my bold prediction:

Crawford fired by midseason. Richards traded at the deadline. Stars finish 8th and make the playoffs.

That is pretty damn bold, because on the surface it would seem the stars wouldnt trade richards if they were in playoff position and wouldnt be a playoff team if they were theyd surely fall out of playoff contention after trading him.

Daley puts up a career best in points.
Ribeiro leads the team in points with over a point per game.
Lehtonen proves hes in the top 5-10 goalies as long as he's healthy.

you think Glennie is a bust pick and will never be a NHL caliber player, or just never play for the stars,

-FF throws a giant rager and is part of a threesome

-Piqued gets sick of this team and becomes a fan of the Wild to follow Miettinen, breaks down and becomes an alcoholic

-Alistar never uses stats based analysis ever again

-Modo changes his avatar

-Lobo loses all enthusiasm for sports

-Kritter sees Niskanen at a practice, he gets danced on the outside, she has a breakdown and stabs him when he's signing autographs

-Captain awesome participates in serious hockey talk on a regular basis

My second choice was something about anal retentiveness, but to be fair I was working with 4 hours of sleep.

G:5 7assist and 100 Pims

Neal will score 50 goals
