Boucher:
Quote:
"A very, very tough choice. That’s why I can say they can all make the team. But right now, it’s going to come down to very small details to see what we specifically need. ... The reality is we’ll have injuries and I'm sure we’ll see all of these guys at some point."
Kubina:
Quote:
"It is, Kubina said, a happy homecoming.

"Home is always special," he said Friday before Tampa Bay faced the Panthers at BankAtlantic Center. "When I put that uniform on, I get a little nervous and excited to play for this team again. It's an honor for me to wear this jersey."

LETS GO BOLTS!

Apparently there won't be any video coverage as opposed to prior announcements (http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/sep...s-lightning/):
Quote:
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced that the planned live video streaming on lightning.nhl.com of Saturday's preseason game with the Panthers will not happen. Only the audio, with Dave Mishkin's play-by-play, will be available. There is no TV or radio coverage.

It *might* be free for preseason in the parking garage, but I doubt it. Theres a slew of 5-10 dollar parking around the place.

Very, very useless fact:

This will be the first time since 2001, that Brett Clark, Mike Weaver and myself have been in the same building, at the same time.

How Weaver was able to carve out an NHL career, I will never know.

Those aren't the Panthers lines tonight.

This is what the team is going with for the last preseason game:

Grabner-Reinprecht-Frolik

Stillman-Matthias-Bernier

McArdle-Santorelli-Olesz

Peters-Reasoner-Dvorak

Garrison-Gudbranson

Allen-Wideman

Callahan-Weaver

Clemmensen/Markstrom

Lightning games are televised by Sun Sports. Sun Sports currently has obligations to televise the Rays games instead, so the Lightning are SOL as the Rays game conflicts with the Lightning in terms of time. And perhaps most of the Sun Sports cameras and all that other **** are probably in Kansas City right now too. So, its not the team's fault. That said after tonight and tomorrow the Rays regular season is over so the majority of games will be on Sun Sports for the Lightning regular season, with the few VS/NBC games thrown in.

But yea, sucks for the peeps that can't attend tonight. =/

Thinking about going tonight, will there be scalpers? Or will there be reasonable tickets at the box office?

i dont really know if thats the reason, cause they knew that the rays game was today, thats why they only wanted to stream it on the lightning and foxsportsflorida webpages, not show it on tv.and if they found out that their cameras and equipment are in freaking kansas, so they will not be able to film the game for the stream jsut 10 hours before the bolts game starts, while advertsing it on their webpage for days ,well than thats highly unprofessional.and i dont blame the managment bolts for it, dont get me wrong.

I'd guess that the canceled stream is because of a contractual agreement with somebody. The most nefarious things I can think of is either radio exclusivity, or creating a precedent with Sun Sports over the team's willingness to have their games only streamed online.

Streaming video through the internet is still pretty new, so exactly what it's status is in terms of "tv broadcasting" isn't quite clear.

I don't think it had anything to do with Sun Sports resources. In the initial release, they seemed like they were ready to go.

Still, they should have had their ducks in a row, before announcing it. Better to be surprised than disappointed.
