Visentin gets the shutout over Finland, but just barely. Hell of a save.

He was also named player of the game. All in all, not a bad 2nd tournament for him. Hopefully he goes back and has a strong finish to the season.

Following in the giant-sized footsteps of past Coyote winners Igor Knyazev, Rusty Klesla and Sami Lepisto

OK OK I know I'm being negative! Gormley is also following Teppo Numminen which is more optimistic.

Of past winners of the forward award, Coyotes have had Robert Reichel, Olli Jokinen, Pavel Brendl, Viktor Tikhonov. And in goalies, Jimmy Waite, Jamie Storr, David Aebischer, and Al Montoya. Things never go the way they should!

He did just get a hair cut though. Kid is pretty tall. There's 2 other guys from the hockey team in that class.. Nobody worth mentioning.

Larazza is pretty skinny too.

Just a minor update on Phil Lane's progress this year. Saw him play last night.

I didn't notice him as much as the last time I saw Brampton play this year, but he definitely looks better this year. His best work was done on the penalty kill, where he was aggressive on the forecheck and did good to make it very hard for Missy to gain the zone. Brampton has the best PK in the league, and there's no doubt he's been a big part of that. He's playing on the team's 2nd line with Patrik Machac and Mitchell Porowski and didn't get a ton of help from his linemates. Even if the stats aren't saying it, it's been a good year for Lane after last year's disappointing effort.

At least he's guaranteed to play in the Memorial Cup. Moncton must realize he's almost done with them anyways and they got quite a haul in return.

Does Tikhonov's contract year get burned with him playing in the KHL or is it "tolled"?

I understand being assigned to Russia was written into his contract.

Is his scenario similar to Nabakov's?

Gormley's not taking any time at all to address that sub-par +/-.

Is Murphy an offensive PMD? Who would be a good NHL comparable?

Sami Salo, Bret Hedican - essentially a big D with a great shot from the point.
