Mike Lee back between the pipes for St. Cloud.

http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey...-vs-minnesota/

I thought he was done for the year.

A loss but not a terrible showing.

Gotta think he'll be signed after his season ends.

Bit of an update on a couple of the other kids.

Phil Lane is out with a concussion, further complicating the decision on whether to sign him or not. His game was coming together and it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he were signed.

Justin Weller broke his wrist ~ month ago and will likely return to action in the next few weeks.

Visentin riding a 3 game shutout streak (7 on the season) and the reigning OHL player of the week. Now sports a top 10 save percentage as well.

Connor Murphy named 1st star with a goal yesterday. Brings him up to 4 goals and 10 points in 16 games. Not bad considering the late start to the season for him. I really like the 1st star selection more than anything.

Connor Murphy with a goal and a +3 rating tonight.

Visentin's shutout streak ended but he still won tonight (and apparently just missed scoring into the empty net when London pulled their goalie) 3-2. Save percentage up to .916 which is .001 from last season.

Gormely with an assist and a +2 rating.

Fritsch with two goals. 16 points in 17 games.

It's a rarity but Ruopp (first of two 3rd round picks we received for Bryzgalov) doubled his goal output (2 goals and 6 points on the season).

Lessio with an assist. 42 points in 48 games.

Real close call for Gormley on the weekend. He got his neck cut by a skate late in the game vs. Saint John that just missed his jugular and left a 3 inch gash that required a rush to the hospital.

He seems to be doing well now though. Scary stuff.

Here's a writeup:

Scary stuff. The good news is that its only two stitches and he seems to have taken it in stride.

Chris Brown with a couple of goals (including this beauty) and a fight (and an upcoming 1 game suspension) this weekend.

Chris Brown is so awesome that I forgive him for the tebow. Haha.

Brown is such a mean, nasty hockey player. It's refreshing that guys like him still exist. He may only end up a fourth line player, bit hes going to be a fan favorite. Hits to hurt, has no respect of any kind for the opposing goaltender, and over all plays hockey like Ray Lewis would.

He needs to turn pro. I wonder if management is still ticked off he didn't last summer.

The organization shouldn't have a problem if his intentions were to just stay and finish school out. Summers did the same and it looks like it hasn't hurt him.

Scary what happened to Gormley. Glad that it didn't turn out worse.

If the kid wants to graduate, I personally don't have a problem. It's smart to have a back-up plan, you never know what could happen.

I think the issues was the flatline he took offensively (23 points last year; 9 goals in 2010-11 versus the 28 points; 13 goals that he scored in 2009-10). Brown is ready physically to play a pro game.

Lee named WCHA player of the week after posting two wins @ Wisconsin. Gave up one goal in each. Please let us keep him. I don't think you guys need him right now with the depth you have in goal.

Visentin with his 8th shutout tonight.

Phil Lane returns from injury (although held pointless).

Connor Murphy puts up another assist to up his point total to 13 (in 18 GP).

If you are looking for a good site to get all of the CHL game updates go to www.chl.ca

Visentin seems to be doing really well. I'm not very knowledgeable with our prospects, so in your opinions, how far along is he, and is he going to be an NHL caliber goalie. If he is, how much longer do you think it will take?

2-3 years. Needs at least 1 year in the AHL; likely 2.

Gormley is out 4-6 weeks with a leg injury. Unsure of the specifics if it's a knee injury or not right now.

It's the left leg though, so it's not the same knee that he dislocated last season.

With that time table he should be back for the playoffs. May miss the first round.

Lee one of 8 guys and 7 girls from the hockey teams to make all WCHA academic team.
IIRC, he's had one B in his college career.

I dont see much point. He never came close to a PPG rate which is a good benchmark for if they're gonna be a NHLer. Nor have his statistics shown any real improvement over 3 seasons. I appreciate his game has improved but I dont think it's enough. Our bottom sixers are guys who had 100 point seasons in juniors.. Chris Brown, Jordan Szwarz and even guys like Bloodoff and Werek are currently ahead of him in the 4th line banger stakes.

Would look for a reclamation project or a highly skilled player passed over for their size.
