...and again, the problem with the goalies is they are not going to be playing for atleast 3 more years, possibly 4 to 5 depending on how negotiations go with Bryz.
Can the Yotes wait that long for goaltending talent, of course, and that is why they should have selected him round 2 or later...these guys are all crapshoots even Campbell.
Better to roll the dice with Rounds 3+ rather than Round 1-2

Strategically, yeah, I agree with that philosophy. But if Visentin turns into a) a starting goalie for the Coyotes or b) an asset the Coyotes can use to bring in a good player, then "rolling the dice" was the smart move.
After highly rated prospects DesRochers, LeNeveu and Montoya all flamed out its pretty hard to believe in any goalie prospect until they've played at least 50 games in the NHL (dont forget Boucher and Bierk also looked great at times too).
Good stuff - it will be interesting to see whether Lee continues to develop. He seems to have a bit of a meltdown game every once in a while.
In terms of most goalies in college, Lee is still quite young. Most goaltenders don't show up in college until 18 or 19 and after a year or two of juniors after high school.
Lee skipped his senior season of high school to play juniors and played one year because our senior netminder didn't keep up with his school work and quit. Ideally this would have been Lee's freshman season. While his numbers aren't great this year, a lot of the issues are not on him, but on the D in front of him. Case in point last night as that game could have been 6 or 7 to 1 without him.
Motzko has been pleased with his play this year and he is getting better.
Has anybody heard anything about Gormley since he was treated/evaluated by the Coyotes doctors? I'm wondering if he's probable or unlikely for the WJC.
Just got a tweet from Drinnan that Keith Gretzky says he out for the WJC - I'll see if I can find something in english. The tweet was en francais and I don't read french any better than the next guy.
Edit: here's the link with the tweet in french. Its over on the right side.
Sucks for the kid but he should get another shot at it next year shouldn't he?
I hoped he would anyway. His options next year are QMJHL and NHL, and given his age, rawness and now missed development, the Q seems like the much better option.
Overall, a missed month of development isn't likely a big deal.
He's at the 30-player selection camp that started today. Im sure he'll make it to WJC. At the camp there was an internal game today that ended 2-1 and Lindberg scored the game winner. He has been heating up lately. He only had 7points during the autumn half of SEL, but 4 of those points came in the last four games. He started the season in the checking line and it was when he was moved up to a producing line some 10-12 days ago, that he really got the production going.
