If you read the chl sticky we broke this awhile ago
Weal is a tough call to me. He has all of the skill you could want to become an NHLer but he plays light and is reminiscent of other smaller talented forwards who just miss the mark for me. I am happy to wait and see how things go for him and he is a really nice kid but unless things change I have to wonder if he will play in the NHL the way the game is played today.
Wheels is small, and I have not seen him play in Juniors, but I will tell you this. I went to Phoenix in September to watch the both games of the rookie tournament, and he did just fine. He used his speed and vision to score, and looked a lot better than Tofolli playing against some current NHL'ers, AHL'ers, and Jr players in the Phoenix organization. In other words, virtually every player on the ice was bigger and older than him and he held his own, at least in the offensive end. I don't remember much about D. Both he and Kozun looked like they had excellent quickness.
He was by far my favorite player at rookie camp all 3 days. He's not blazing fast by any means, but he's smart, creative and smooth. Couple things i really liked was how he dealt with small spaces and situations at top speed, he handles both situations above average.
However the thing that stood out to me about Weal was his ability to pick-pocket. He creates a lot of offense with this under-rated skill. Bummer about his size, but i believe that these other skills will eventually get him to the NHL.
