vote for the 2010 Brandon Bochenski award winner here.
I will not try to argue to you what the Bochenski award means, but keep in mind that the original intent was for it to be the sens board's concensus for the best player in the preseason, and what bochenski went on to do in his career did not originally factor in.
from the original presentation in 2008:

The Trophy
The finalists (listed in order of votes from nomination thread):
1. Nick Foligno
Finished 3rd in scoring and first (3 way tie) in goals on the ottawa senators with 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. Finished the preseason +3 in the plus/minus department. Had a remarkable 50% shooting percentage. Fights brought him to a total of 17PIMs. Scored 1 game-winning goal.
2. Chris Campoli
Tied sens preseason scoring lead with 8pts. T-7th in league assists lead and t-8th in league points lead. His 6 assists led the senators, as did his +6 rating. Scored at a 33% rate (2/6). Played one less game than the other two nominees.
3. Zach Smith
Led sens rookies with 5 points, which also put him in 4th place on the team. Scored a hat-trick in the final game of the preseason for his only 3 goals. Fights put him in 3rd place in pims for the sens with 18pim. Scored at a 30% rate (3/10). Earned a +2 rating in 6 games.
Past winners:
2005 - Brandon Bochenski
--
2008 - Chris Neil
2009 - Mike Fisher
Campoli and Foligno are right down to the wire, but I'm going to give it to Foligno on the basis of his ridiculous shooting %. Also on the basis of Campoli looked like crap most of the time he was on the ice and anyone watching pretty much agrees.
Based on the original definition you've got, and not the definition I assumed, it should be Spezza's though. By far Ottawa's best player.
Campoli, because he will return to his old crappy self. That's what the Bochenski award is all about.
Ugh, but the thing is, that's not what the award is.

1.6 ppg defenseman. He played at a 131 point pace. Led in +/- and was usually among the leaders in icetime for the team. Furthermore, anybody who says he played worse defensively than Karlsson or even Gonchar is suffering from a case of confirmation bias.
Basically if Karlsson or Lee had done what he did for those 5 games this wouldn't even be a competition.

We all know Camps won't produce at the same level and therefore I voted for Foligno. That being said, I never have liked the kid and my opinion is highly biased. Smith was always decent in my eyes.
