Anyone know the rooks new numbers??

Hi all,

Just wondering if Stepan and Sauer have their new numbers published anywhere yet, so that I can find them on opening night. I always have a hard time with number changes after a few games!!

well i know for certain Stepan will be wearing 21 because that's the number he usually wears (and it's an open number) but i haven't the slightest about Sauer. what number did he wear in Hartford?

Gomez has tarnished the once great number, 19. Poor Jean Ratelle...

then he may stick with the 38 unless there's another number to his liking.

Fedotenko wore #19 all preseason, I imagine he will keep it going into the season.

Stepan wore 21 at Wisconsin and in the WJC's. 21 is available so it only makes sense he wears it going forward.

Sauer wore 4 in the A, 38 in the preseason. I think he wears 6 or 44 in the regular season?

Stepan should definitely be 21.

19 will be reserved for Kreider IMO.

In response to a couple of previous posts, Feds is wearing 19 (had it all preseason) and Emminger is 44, so that is out as well.

Stepan is still wearing #57 in practice today. Not sure if that means that's what his will be. I liked the 57 on him actually. Got used to seeing it all over the ice during preseason.

And Fed's is still wearing 19, so he's probably keeping that too.

On edit: On the team page it has Stepan as number 57. Does that mean anything? As an interesting tidbit, Fed's isn't even on the team page roster list yet. Wonder how long it takes to put his info up.

During the first season rookies usually wear w/e number is given to them and then change later. Thats what happened with Dubi, Cally, and Girardi.

that's not what happened with MDZ, or staal. played with one number in camp then once they made they team they got real numbers.

Dubi, cally and Girardi were callups, didn't make the team out of camp. Once they did they choose their number.

Yes this. Normally they keep the weird numbers if they are midseason callups. I still have my #46 Girardi jersey. I dont' think there are any others out there, lol.

Jesse Spector tweets: "Derek Stepan says he plans to switch to No. 21, which he wore in college."

Fedotenko was listed as 27 on the site for awhile. Even in the recent game notes but has been corrected. I guess Sauer can stick with 38. Has anyone wore #14 since Shanahan?
