It would have been so priceless if Brad Richards would have said something along the lines of "BLOW ME Mike Danton, Oh wait, you'll get enough of that in jail!" when he got his Conn Smythe.

Mr. Danton, or Jefferson as he was known before is the man who during the Memorial Cup a few years ago claimed that Richards would never cut it in the NHL and he'd get killed cause he was a wussy.

Congrats Brad Richards, who's my favourite Lightning member. And congrats to Mike Danton on a fine jail sentence.

Edit, here's a link to the story for those curious about it...

Hi

Now I know the feeling of having your favorite player win something important. 4 years ago I was dying for him to win the Calder, but I'd take the conny over the calder any day!!

Congrats to Brad Richards! 7 GWG in these playoffs and a class act all the way (4 PIMs in the playoffs in total, and ONLY 12 in the regular season!). It's no fluke he was selected to team Canada; the guy WAS HIGHLY underrated and you could say this was his coming-out party. Plus he's only 24 so the best is yet to come.

Hats off to Richards, just one of the great young players on Tampa's roster.

People questioned whether it was him or Vinny who catalyzed Rimouski in their junior years. Guess they never figured out that all those points were because they both were awesome? GJ Richy & Vinny

I played Minor Hockey against Brad and believe me, he was as dominent then as he is now. Way to go, much deserved. Few people may know this, but during the start of the playoffs, a former teammate and friend of Brad, Brent Allen, lost his life in a car accident here on the island, so for him to also play through that pain of that loss must also have been difficult. In an interview after the game with Ron MacLean, Brad did give a shout out to the Allen family. He is truely a class act and this is just one of many awards to come his way!!!!

Yes, first player in history to win both Mem Cup MVP and the MVP of the playoffs in the NHL.
