It seems to me that Santavuori (#91, gold helmet guy) set him up for a good majority of his goals. I'm not saying he's the reason for Armia's good numbers but I'm sure having a guy like that on your line sure helps.

Still, fairly impressive video there (although one has to take into account that pretty much everyone looks great in their highlight videos) and he appears to have a very nice shot.

To be honest I have no idea who will be better #64 or #10. Sniper vs. Playmaker hard to compare.
Just a hunch. But seriously though, I think both of them will be solid top-6 forwards. It will take years, though.

Obviously a sniper-styled player needs a good linemates to set him up. We saw him at the u20 where he didnt have ones and it showed. But hes so young that theres more than enough time to develop as a player. I think its pretty clear he wont make it NHL with beeing pure sniper/dangler if other parts of the package dont match. Its nice to have someone from Finland beeing a goalscorer though.

Oh well, at least they will have a dynasty of losing in the Finals.

Santavuori scored 3+11 in 42 games on the previous season, so obviously Armia had an effect on his play as well.

and Armia just as a "Hyökkääjä)

Then only says maila: right LOL

Great vid, really looking forward to see him ripping the U18 tournament this year.

I've only seen 10-12 Ässät games this season, but in my opinion, at best, he could really turn out to be a Jeff Carter/Alex Semin type of player if everything goes right. He's made so much developement in just one year.

Or he could become a streaky 3rd liner who shows glimps of brilliance, like Hagman.

Many North American sources (including HF, THN) incorrectly have Pulkkinen as a left wing, a position that he's only played last season the few games he played with Esa Pirnes and Jukka Hentunen prior to his wrist injury.

And obviously Pekka Rautakallio (the headcoach) also had a lot do with realising Armia's potential and giving him a spot in the first line with Santavuori after the match he scored his first goal and then also continuing to play him there for almost the entire season. Santavuori and Armia made a good pair the past season and both made eachother better playing in the good system the team had.

Fair enough. I figured it was something like that.

Well I hope Armia will get drafted by a decent team.

Let's see what happens!

He looks like Perry to me. What's holding him back from being ranked higher? Don't typically follow European prospects that closely but pretty nice highlight vid, shows off his skillset nicely.

Well Perry was picked 28th.

Perry's skating was perceived to be awkward and poor in his draft year IIRC. Are those the same concerns? From these highlights he looks like a dead ringer especially with those dangles, that long stick and right-handed shot.

Not really. Developed his skating from "struggling in junior" to "good enough against men" over the summer and likely his skating will still get better with the addition of more mucle on his legs.

I would say more Petr Nedved. That snapshot is very similar to his. The kid has nice hands, decent size. Should be a good NHLer once he fills out a bit.

I agree with the poster above who said he is exactly what the Wild would want. I could definitely see Minny grabbing him if he is still on the board when they pick.

A bit misleading yeah. I mean he does sometimes go to the net and really doesn't shy away when things might get dirty around the net. He can't do everything with that physic, but he is not afraid of contact.

From what i've seen about 10-15 games from him this season he's been at perimeter most of the time.

Yeah don't get me wrong, he is one more than he is not. That's why I said "a bit".

Edit. Like I said he has the attitude, but lacks the muscle.

An article about Armia with the stuff already discussed with also some comments also from former headcoach Pekka Rautakallio and stuff: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=557968

And just for fun, here is a video of his past season from another thread:

6 games, 4 goals and 9 assists in the U18-tournament. Would have expected more goals from him, but he had to be the playmaker in most games while lacking one for himself so you can undertand the stats being what they are. A solid tournament overall.
