Illness, training really hard during the summer and likely some pressure from the expectations of everybody. Also the whole team had a bit of a rocky start and Armia got juggled from line to line since things weren't working and he lacked effort often.

Armia made his goal number 17 few moments ago with a nice wrist shot. Ässät has played pretty horrible last few games, but Armia has been the best player of the team imo.

Last season: 48g: 18g+11a=29p
This season: 48g: 17g+18a=35p

6 more games before playoffs.

And his goal was the only one in the 1-5-loss. Would have also gotten an assist if his linemate would have scored to the empty net in the third.

One of the few bright spots on the team at the moment.

Armia was on fire today, scored his team's only goal in a 5-1 loss vs. JYP. Unlucky for him though that he was the only one getting anything done on him team. As his teammates were of little help he was able to make like half a dozen chances with his individual skill, and the goal to top it off. He showcased some sick hands and played pretty active.

Armia with 0+1 (the assist was a beauty) during first 60 minutes today. He was also the only one to score in shootout and was awarded as the best player of the game. Not the best game Armia has played recently, but solid performance overall.

Scored a goal and assisted a goal today while playing 21:33 today in the 4-0-win.

Has been playing well with Stephen Dixon and Veli-Matti Savinainen after Tomas Zaborsky (leading scorer in the league) got injured. Now top-20 in points having 18 goals and 20 assists in 51 games.

Also clocked in 21:33 TOI, which I think is a career record

Zaborsky gone, more TOI for Armia

I think he has done as many points in second half of this season than last season total. He had really bad start ( dunno he might have overdo summer training, maybe it was pressure or maybe didn't do anything else than rest last summer )

In his first 19 games: 2 goals and 5 assists
In his last 32 games: 16 goals 15 assists

His slow start was a mixture very much training over the summer, illness, some pressure because of the expectations, a rather poor start from the whole team and jumping from line to line.

So his slow start was in no part his fault? It was the sum of several other factors?

I'm wondering how many of those games were before the World Juniors and how many were after. Did he come back from the Juniors and go crazy because he gained lots of confidence at them? Or had he already turned his season around?

What are peoples guess on when he comes over to the AHL or NHL potentially?

I know nothing of the situation other than what I read here, but every player playing poorly is 100% responsible. Yes, other factors weigh in, but of course his poor play was his own fault, regardless of other contributing factors.

What I think is that Armia came into the season thinking he would play like he is playing now but it didn't work out that way immediately and it resulted in a loss of confidence.

I'm pretty sure Armia kept trying to make too complicated plays he couldn't do due to lack of confidence and such, so he's to blame too.

His PPG+ pace streak started on December 2nd and I remember some Finns being very excited about Armia and few other Finns getting their engines rolling just before the WJC.

I think Armia will stay, and needs to stay in Finland next season. He still needs to mature. Would be great to see him in men's national team, and doing so in an EHT or other pre-WHC tournament is not out of question this season either, but next season he could really make it.

He will be in Finland next year too, he's starting his armed service in July and will be discharged in January.

Sorry, forgot to mention that he was either trying too hard or not trying hard enough (lack of confidence) early in the season. I'd assume the things I already mentioned had a role in that, but in the end he is responsible for his play.

Seems the scoring numbers are still there in these last few games, even with him not shielded as much by Zaborsky which I would take as a good sign in his maturation.

When he starts to really dominate in FEL. Also when he starts to get EHT invites and plays well there.

I think realistic estimation is two years from now. But i wouldnt be hugely suprised if made the jump year from now.
