This kid is the real deal, he's just 17 so he does tire and get into "down" phases which turns these performances into streaks and not a continuous goal per game sort of rhythm.

so as Tupu-Hupu-Lupu are retiring, they're being replaced in front of our eyes (x-Granlund-Armia)..

Soo.. who's X?

... scored on Jani Hurme which is like the equivalent to Vesa Toskala in NHL.

I think it's the kid who's in his rookie year and has more points than either of those guys you mentioned

Once again Armia shows his magic. I'm looking forward to seeing him live on saturday.

He will regress most likely during the winter and the top 2 picks are a lock. Its Couturier and RNH, maybe Larsson?

The team will have quite a few smallish offensively talented wingers. The downside is that they aren't the most well-rounded players out there and are better suited for European rinks. It's also a question whether you can form functional line combos from these players or not. Bronze is a possibility if all works out superbly.

A person posted this on the Kings board:
Kings scout Todd Woodcroft attended Joel Armia's club, Ässät, game against Tappara last Friday

http://www.jatkoaika.com/smliiga.php...umnit&id=10901
"I'm here because of Armia. Kings have been following him throughout the fall. I finally get to see him live"

"Armia's interesting to follow. You have to keep in mind, he's only 17. He'll only get better and better. He's a smooth skater for his size. A fast, accurate shot while moving. Armia's a combination of good attitude and determination. It'll be interesting to follow his development over the next few years."

"I'm sure he's played better games than today, but I'm satisfied with what I saw. He is a real talent. Tonight he succeeded to bring out his strengths. A good player can be one of the most visible players on the ice even in a mediocre game. That shows maturity, which is highly regarded in life outside of the rink, too."

Rest of the interview is just ordinary stuff about the Kings, management and players, I'm not going to translate that.

Nice to see the Kings, too, are interested in Armia, but I think Armia's going top 10 in the draft, and it's not looking like you guys will be drafting then...

Exellent start from Armia, just scored a goal on powerplay and draw the 3rd JYP penalty. Many good shots allready btw

Ässät has been exellent this game, i love their team! I love watching them play.

Nice goal by Armia. On the powerplay his 11th goal against the mighty JYP. Also has drawn one penalty for JYP and has had a great start to this game.

...damn it took a long time for this post to submit.

Edit. Now also an assist on the third goal.

Edit2. Second star of the game.

Very nice game by Armia.

It´s a shame that refs ruined an otherwise good game though, ridiculous call in the 3rd period. (5+20 for a perfectly clean hit )

So, i got to see him for the first time and here's the quick impressions:

-He definetly is not SLOW as i thought, but he looks really weak, almost fragile on his skates in times.

-He played really well and was probably the most visible player on the ice for the first period. After that, he disappeared IMO. (Whole team was pretty lousy after the 1st)

-His shot is not only nice and sharp, but the release is also very fast without the decrease in accuracy as we saw in todays goal.

-He certainly has the tools to become an elite player if he gets rid of his inconsistency.

I love ässät <3 (Obviously i love HIFK more but Ässät has always had my sympathy)

Vatanen had a weak game btw

Not true at all. He was by far the best D-man for JYP, the other ones sucked badly. He created lots of scoring chances and was solid all the way. He didn´t play his best game today but definitely not a weak game.

Well maybe not a perfectly clean hit but like a 2+10 would have been better in my oppinion since I kinda think it hit the head a bit even though otherwise it was a good hit.

Well production-wise yes, but I'd say he is fairly consistent at making/having chances and plays fairly good mostly so I'm not worried about that that much.

Well maybe i didn't express myself the way i meant it.

It was a weak game compared to ones i have seen from him before.
So, he was good, but far from his best nights that's my point.

And goal number 12 against TPS today.

Off a rebound to score the 2-1-goal that was also the game winner in the 4-1-win. Awarded as the first star of the game.
