Exactly. In fact, I think the best thing for Armia would be getting drafted in the bottom of the 1st round by one of teams, that don't have immediate need for improvement. Vancouver, Wings, Philly, Pens etc. Armia still has a long way to go to become an NHL player, but he has that untapped raw potential.

First game back.

Scores a goal.

On the PP.

In Pori.

Edit. Oh and a total of 11 shots taken in just over 15 minutes of icetime. Brought some much needed energy to the struggling first line.

Second game (played right now), has scored two PP-goals and has been trying and playing well also. Now is tied for first in the league with 9 goals on the PP.

I think good linemates, good amount of icetime especially on the PP, actually using him well and the slightly slower pace has something to do with it.

Rajala and nättinen didn't pass the puck to armia or anything it hurted his game big time at the wjc.

Armia scored again (gamewinner)! He has scored 3 goals in 3 games since the WJC.
He was also the 1st star of the game.

The one who leads team in points wears it. Every team has one.

Is it a bad thing that I am amused by this?

Why do finnish teams need to have a guy wearing a gold helmet to know he is the leading scorer? I mean... in the NHL, you just look at a stats sheet before the game, and then you can assign checking based on that.

A gold helmet reminds me of the fox puck highlights...

Absolutely not, it's truly comical. The players don't like it, most of the fans don't like it, but what can you do, the Finnish hockey bosses bend over for ad-money.

seriously, who pays for that? A gold company? A jeweler? I cant see how an advertiser would think the gold helmet is a good idea.

A betting company that's managed by the state.

I rather have a golden helmet (I do think it's ridiculous) than have what they do in Switzerland:

Yeah, that's a flame helmet with a flame jersey and "TOP SCORER" written in the back instead of number.

Well both have flames, but the other one has them in black. Also looks like the guy behind him is also "Top"-something. I don't really care about the gold helmet.

Oh yeah Armia something something.

This thread needs more "Look at zhem jerseys man, zhey look like nascarz!!!"

I actually don't mind the golden helmets, maybe because they have been around forever, they have become an integral part of the Finnish hockey culture. Sure it's a dumb gimmick, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing one of them on Armia's head.

And btw Armia now has the record for most PP-goals in a season by a rookie in SM-liiga with nine. Three players have scored eight as a rookie, one of them was Teemu Selänne.

The player that wears the gold helmet the longest time during the season also gets a money prize so I don't think they mind that much.

Armia just scored, on a 1-on-1.
Was a nice deke, tho the goal was a bit weak IMO

Well on his own rebound got it over the pad, but yeah could have been prettier I guess. Also drew some penalties and was awarded as the first star of the match.

Tied for most goals in a season by a Ässät-rookie in SM-liiga with 16. The other rookie in Ässät scoring 16 goals in a season was Ari Santanen in 1988-89.
