No...he's really not. I've seen a lot of him the last 2 years, and he's a lot of things, but a 'pretty good hockey player' is not one of them. He's a decent skater, hard on the forecheck, and he's always game to drop the mits...but that's about it.
Great comeback !!! LOL......

I'm still teying to find any kind of valid reason that Tallon would put Grabner on Waivers and risk losing him. Granted I have heard that he had a less than stellar camp - but he was a key part of the Ballard deal, and a good young talent for a team like the Panthers.

For your sake, I hope he's a flop on Long Island

i like this trade. DT constantly shows that he is gonna make the team tougher to play against. having a guy who can defend our players and log some minutes is a big part of that.

I really don't think this trade will make a difference at all. Hordichuk may spend the majority of the year being scratched or placed on the 4th line. However, he's still one of my all-time favorite Panthers and I am ecstatic to have him back. He's definitely a DeBoer type of player even if he lacks skill, he makes up for in his role as an enforcer. Just an all-around great guy off the ice too as I remember how much he donated to local charities last time he was here.

Love Hordichuck, very happy.

He joins the ranks of Dvorak, Sheppard, and Lindsay as 2 timers here.

If there's one advantage, it's that I believe Hordichuk has a 1 way contract, so given our budget constraints, DeBoer will basically be forced to play him.

I love this move. Always liked Hordichuk. Also DeBoer might actually play him

Is Hordichuck and Tarnasky the same type of player?

He is not a very good 4th liner during his days in Vancouver, he is not tough to play against, he rarely intimidates anyone, and even Rypien (our smallest enforcer) fights better than him.

Maybe he plays better when he is a Panther, but he is certainly a disappointment during his time as a Canuck.

Good pick up in my opinion.

Mainly because Hordichuk will go after guys whether they want to fight or not, and Peters is one of those "fights by appointment" enforcers.

If we're comparing him to our last couple of enforcers, I think he's a better skater than Belak/MacIntryre, so maybe DeBoer plays him a little more.
Don't hold your breath, lol.

Well yeah heh, Hordichuk, like few others, stood a chance against Laus.

If anything, having Hordi around should make a potentially difficult year more entertaining.

Cool to have Hordichuk back around. That's about it. haha. More serviceable than Peters, that's for sure.
