Like Bozak said, post the rules and number of teams but that is either a small league or an amazing team.

first blush is that if it's a small league and head to head, your sort of screwed. the person that has just as good of goalies like miller/brodeur or luongo are going to trounce you in the 4 stat category for goalies in head to head.

You only have one big point getter in Crosby. Also, if it's ESPN head to head, the person with the better goalies and a roster full of zenon konopka's is going to trounce you.

if it's a big league and roto, then you have a pretty solid team. if it's a small league and roto, I would worry about point production and plus minus for most of your roster. You have maybe one or two big plus minus players.

Also, I intentionally stayed far away from any Boston goalie this season in any league. There's too much up in the air. Rask was great in the 2nd half of last year, but Thomas is wanting his job back. You may have taken a backup as one of your primary tenders. Hopefully, it wasn't a high pick. Rinne is also a risk, because the Nashville D is a little weaker this season than last.

Hiller and Mason might be your bread and butter, though. They both have a lot to prove this season.

Head to head in a small league...

You'll probably win 60% of your head to head matches based on your goalies alone. Be wary of opponents that have the top tier goalies.

In a league with those rules, I would have drafted three top goalies and then loaded up on PIMs and then points. That would typically get you a 5/3 win nearly every week.

Two seasons ago, I had Thomas/S. Mason/Nabokov as my goalies. After the first two head to head weeks, I dropped all of my 70pt forwards and my 30pt D and just loaded up on goons and high PIM D (yes, I picked up MA Bergeron). Ended up going 4/4 or 5/3 on 90% of my games. Often, because high PIM D are typically PP players, I racked up 6/2 wins sometimes.

It's all about min/maxing your roster to exploit the rules.

Yeah, but roto leagues have their exploits as well. I've seen Jeff Schultz taken over Hjaalmarson/Goligoski based solely on plus/minus in roto leagues.

Hell, if Washington had a single decent goal tender the last two seasons, Schultz would be a plus 60 each season. You get points for that in a roto league and add in his 4 goals and 35 assists, he turns into a 100 point player in a roto league.

@ bozak, jeff schultz is available, and so is comrie. who do you think i should drop for schultz? and do u think comrie is worth it?

for schultz, the way i see it is it's either Hjalmarsson, Hedman, or Wideman i'm dropping for him, they say he's not worth it on the site, but if u feel that different about him in this league than i feel i should listen if i wanna win ^^

btw this is my first season for me that i did with some friends so im feelin competitive ^^

lol idk, me and 2 of my friends joined this league, and they just kinda picked the players they liked. i however did a few mock drafts before hand and kinda already knew how my team was going to shape out before we even started. either way im happy with my team lol.

Unless they change the ESPN head to head...

The stats you are concerned about are:
Goalies
Win (W)
Save Percentage (S%)
Goals Against Average (GAA)

Skaters
Goal (G)
Power Play Goal (PPG)
Assist (A)
Plus/Minus (+/-)
Penalties (PIM)
Average Time on Ice (ATOI)
Shots on Goal (SOG)

Depending on the rules chosen for your league...

I dunno. It's a gut shot. I dropped Hjaalmarsen from our Yahoo league and picked up Khabibulin because i wasn't happy with only two goalies.

Jeff Schultz would be an exploit pick if ATOI and Plus/Minus are in your head to head categories. He averages a butt load of minutes and was plus 45 last season.

I'm no expert, by any stretch. I think I drafted like crap this year.

Fantasy League Update! grN^^'s team is getting destroyed by pretty much everyone in the league. His plus minus is horrendus and his goalies are sub-par at best peace

Bolded is who I would take for a keeper league. The D and goalies are pretty weak. I like Schenn but having a good defensive d-man in fantasy's main attraction is their +/-. Who knows if the Maple Leafs will turn that around any time soon. Price is having a great year, but flash in the pan? Whatever, he's young and not DiPietro. I have heard a ton of hype about of Bobrovski is the real deal, but I haven't seen him for more than five minutes to be honest. My 7th pick is between Eberle and Schenn. That D crop is slim pickin's..

Thx for the reply. yes everytime im at my computer and theres a flyers game on? i turn to it. BOBS has been out of this world.. the flyers fans are all clamoring 'hes the future' hes the future.

In the draft i kinda threw D to the back burner figured i'd just grab the guys i needed and waiver the HUGE crop of young D this year. Dont poo poo backes in this lg though, Hits and PIMS he rakes in!
Although its a 20 team league, i missed out of some good defensemen but hit big with bobrovski and skinner to a point. This is who im thinking about keeping ATM.

I think it would be a mistake to take Zetterberg right now in a keeper league. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite players, but he's getting up there in age (isn't the point to draft young in a keeper?) and he's injured quite a bit. If there weren't other young scorers to pick from I would say to take him, but I think it'd be a big mistake not taking Skinner. As of right now, besides Staal, who are the Canes scorers gonna be in the future? I dunno, maybe I'm ignorant on how good their prospect pool really is, but Skinner looks damn promising. I personally would nix Backes as well, but no big deal. Never played in a keeper league before, but if I were just joining one guys like Parise and Kessel would be my ideal top picks because they're proven scorers and just entering their prime, whereas guys like Zetterberg are almost past theirs.
