Leafs are playing the way they have to.....grinding it out. No Cammy or Markov makes the PP pretty much toothless.

Thank god Picard played a better period than the first.

and... holy overreaction Mathman

Habs outshot the Leafs in the 2nd and dominated ES play. Without Markov, Cammy and Hammer.

There are not a whole of ways to say it:

Gionta and Gomez MUST generate something.

Kostitsyn and Pouliot are pretty much where I expected them to be at this point: Lost.

Have to say very good game far
Not too many mistakes
No one is costing us the game
But their goalie is saving the leafs for sure

Our offence is less than exciting so far tonight. Where are the quality shots by the Habs?????

On one PP we looked good but no goals.

Gio, Poolie, AK. Where are the quality shots on net? Time to start getting some good shots.

Eller, and Boyd have looked rather good so far.

Time for our first two lines to produce some goals.

Only positives so far tonight, we have been playing better than the Leafs despite the lost of our best winger, the lack of Markov and Hamrlik.. Leafs have a playoffs team this year..

Subban is stellar, his chances to win the Calder are pretty high IMO..

A.Kost is playing a pretty good game as well as Eller.. not impressed with Pouliot once again, he is soft as butter and has trouble to turn left right, cant really stand him and I dont think he will finish the year in MTL, especially with a guy like Pulushaj in the minors.. This kid has been overhyped since his draft year..

I can't wait to get all our personnel back. We're gonna look good, especially our PP. Diggin' this more agressive forecheck big time.

Are you kidding me? He's been incredibly lucky. We also hit a couple of posts.

Rough start, but the Habs have been outplaying the Leafs for a while (with the occasional pressure from Toronto).

I predict we tie it up early in the 3rd - Plekanec scores.

Pouliot didn't play bad, made some good plays, and AK hit a post.

I can't wait to see Markov out there controlling the PP. When we have Markov on the point and Gomez along the boards we get like 10 shots/PP

If Eller can play with top line mates and put this sort of effort in every night... He may even be *ahead* of Subban in my eyes.

Great 2nd period for the Habs though.... I think with Cammy in the lineup, the dynamic of this team changes completely.

things i've learned so far tonight.

1)it will take a while to get use to gomez with 11.
2)our team is so boring to watch and it's the first game of the season. wish we had a care-free system again, those days were fun.

When you're on the top-6 of a playoffs-aspiring team, "making some good plays" ain't enough. You must produce scoring chances, which Pouliot didn't.

Kostitsyn might have hit the outside end of the post in the 1st, he still was invisible most of the night and sure didn't help his teammates a whole lot of times.

I didn't see that 1st period but in the second, from what I saw, Andrei didn't look lost at all. He was intense and forecheking hard. Didn't lose the puck. Every time I saw him, he was in the offensive zone.

EDIT: after seeing other post, i see that TankEller is being himself, which is a AK hater.

Yeah... And the Leafs would have scored 3 while he was on the ice, so the point is moot.

He looks like a veteran dman out there. +1 so far tonight.

With Markov back and with Subban on two different lines, we'd have around 40-50 minutes of solid D.

What;s lost is your player assesment. AK's been active at both ends of the ice.
