My guess is around 70-80 points.

You mean 2012-13 right? The 2011-12 is the season he's currently playing right now in Sarnia.

If Yakupov heads to the NHL right away (likely scenario), I could see a 35 goal, 30-35 assist season (65-70 points).

Obviously those totals will depend on where he goes and the opportunity he gets but the skill and strength is there for him to compete with the best at the next level.

Yeah 2012-2013, my bad.

Patrick Kane got 72 points (21 G, 51 A) in his rookie year after being taken first overall. I personally think Yakupov will top that. I'll say 75-80.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I think it's possible that he impresses the hell out of us and puts up some big numbers in his rookie year. Calling it now.

I wonder how much more valuable the Coyotes franchise would be if they drafted Yakupov.

I could see the Blue Jackets getting him and him being the player that finally puts them over that nasty hump of being a crappy franchise.

Wrong thread for this, there is another thread solely for "Yakupov will go to.."

Shut up with the "don't talk about where he'll be drafted" business. My lord that is annoying.

I see Yakupov having a less than mind blowing rookie season. 50, 60 points. He'll be a star for sure though. In his prime, a couple hundred point seasons is probably a fair guess barring injuries or busting.

Anyone know how to properly say his first name?

Is it really "Nail" like Hammer & Nail? Too many years of saving the world from Russians in Call of Duty to let me think a Russian name is pronounced like that. Or is it "Na-eel"?

Actually a Tatar guy earlier in this thread or another said it was close to what you said but it's more like Nay-eh.

Noted. Thank you.

And lol at the people a few pages back who kept bringing up how he might be Muslim, but followed it up by saying "that doesn't even matter".

If it doesn't matter why bring it up?

Guess he prefers "our" version of the name over here. So much more badass and a perfect hockey name.

Well, i'm partly Tatar as well, can't speak the language, like my grandmother do, but i'm sure it's pronounced like Nah-eel' with soften sound of "L" in the end.Back to my school days there were lots of Nails, Fanils, Ramils - guys with common tatar names. I grew up in a area with great tatar population around.

Anyway i guess it's easier to say just Yak or something like that=)

"Of course I'm happy, life is wonderful, hockey is wonderful"

Nail, I've respected you as a young player but I have to say you have a very awesome outlook on life. This kid is just great, greatness is just written all over him.

I'm sure he is truly happy, but let's just say that Larionov and his daughter do a very good job of 'guiding' Yakupov in terms of saying all the right things for NHL teams to be all over him.
