I can't officially vote, but you can pencil me in for "End of the month."

When there's no noticeable improvement in the team after a whole year, a second training camp, and better talent--it's time to cut him loose.

Richards has to be given at least 10 games. The pre-season was crappy, and our first game showed mental lapses. Is this all the coaches' fault? I don't think so, but as most have said someone has to be held accountable and the coach should be able to rally the troops with the amount of talent we have on this team.

I'm not sure who the correct coach is, but TR's first year here and so far this season, our teams just seem to take the next shift off after we score. I'm not sure what the problem is, but the coach is the easiest thing to replace and probably will happen sooner rather than later. The thing that sucks is that we don't have our 2nd rounder next year, so if we are really bad...this also sucks.

If we are struggling by Thanksgiving, TR should be getting a turkey sandwich for he road. When we hired Therrien I figure Richards had no margin for error this season. See: Chicago and Joel Quenneville

Oct. 21st...

After getting slammed by the Oilers...Richards trots out his "compete level" speech and someone whispers in his ear and is told that he is fired.

Another old favorite showed up tonight: Shootout Loss!

0-1-1 can't be helping his chances.

I said at the end of last year Richards needs to go. The looks of things so far in preseason and 2 games vs the Canes this year he's got this team playing decent enuf to be in the AHL but certainly not to NHL standards. I firmly believe this team can be better than how they been playing with Richards at the helm.

Richards gone, sooner the better.

I didn't watch the game tonight but going by what Russo tweeted about guys being out there for four straight minutes, what the **** was Richards thinking? Jeez.

Calm down everyone; he's going to be given a chance to improve and grow into the job. By the way there is ZERO chance Michael Therrien gets the job since it would be back to the trapping style of Jacques.

If this team goes into an extended funk or they have an entire season of being inconsistant then I could see a change late this season or next summer. If they are forced to make a change in the next 12 months I suspect you would be looking at someone like Craig MacTavish.

I think the Wild's problem is plainly execution and not motivation. We just don't have the right horses for this race. The bulk of the blame should be on Fletch for signing Havlat. - although I'll admit that 28 out of 30 GM's would have signed him under the same circumstances.

Again, if the problem is simply getting the guys to get motivated then it would be a no brainer to sack the coach. But, unfortunately I think the problem is passing, shooting, playmaking, speed and most most importantly, maintaining puck possession. - And, no coaching philosophy (up-tempo or otherwise) can make up for these deficiencies without the right players

very convenient thing to say with the recent drama, is that what you are referring too? if so, i bet if he was leading the team in points you'd be signing a better tune.

You Win as a team, You lose as a team, you can't blame team failure on one player.

Yeah, that's definately true, but you got to admit that if Havlat would have scored even a one goal, we would have won one game more than we have won now.

Except if he's your star signing and hasn't done squat.

"an entire season of being inconsistent" = 2009-10.
Extended funk = losing 8 road games in a row

Therrien is on payroll, and you don't put a coach with as much experience as Therrien on "Scouting Duty" if you don't have bigger plans. Especially if that coach has never been a part of your organization before.

A lot of guys need to work a lot harder, especially in the top six. There's maybe two guys showing up on any given night (Koivu and Cullen mostly). The bottom six, D, and Backs are all playing well. Right now I'm looking at the players, and I'm not a Richards guy by any means.

From Russo:

Quote:
Richards said he and the coaching staff talked at length Monday morning about moving Havlat to the top line with Koivu and Brunette but the decision was made to keep Havlat with Cullen on the second line; Richards really wants to wait and see if that line can become more productive. Having said that, Richards said he will, at times, throw Havlat on the top line in key situations, much like he did against Chicago.
Brilliant idea...the line does jack squat for two weeks, and he's going to just wait and see.

Great concept, no?

I mean... Jacques Martin is taking flack for changing up his lines too much...

Let's see:
2 Montreal 11 7 3 1 15

12 Minnesota 10 4 4 2 10

Failure to adapt:

Havlat needs big linemates to set picks.

Cullen needs skating linemates for fast breaks and cycling the puck.

The fact Richards still doesn't want to swap up the lines proves my point....
