Send a message via AIM to Seth Lake
Rinne to start.

Real question is...with Cam Janssen back in the lineup for St. Louis, does Belak dress? My vote is a clear "no", but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens...

Just a question, but why is Kostitsyn playing 4th line minutes? He's only 23 and can still develop quite a bit. I don't know how good it is for his development to be playing just 10 minutes a game.

Also, how have Sulzer and Franson been as the third pairing since Suter has been out?

Nice GDT, worst. Can't wait for tonight. Part of me kind of thinks that a loss tonight might take some of the pressure off for Saturday (who wants to end the unbeaten streak in Detroit?), but wins both days would be best.

Let's hope Dumont scores a David Legwand hattrick.

To smitty10, Kositisyn broke his toe and you can tell when he skates. I think Trotz is playing it safe until he's 100%

Im predicting 2 goals from

and one from Tootoo, The Blues seem to bring out the best in him for some reason

SK has a broken toe and Trotz is limiting his minutes. He can be an effective player on the defensive end and why screw with the balance of the lines? (Other than to screw me?

I think the boys had a good rest period and are going to come out guns blazing...

What i hope is that leading the league doesn't get into somebody's head and make them think we are better than we really are and thus not need to work that hard. Hopefully doesn't happen.

That being said 2-1 Preds (Cal gets a pair)

Let's get it done boys

Nice thread. Ours isn't even up yet.

Small correction: The OP has the Blues usual defensive pairings listed, but with Polak out the new ones (at least for this game) will likely be:

Brewer-Johnson
Jackman-Pietrangelo
Colaiacovo-Strachan

Really? I thought he was close to returning?

Please excuse my ignorance, I don't see alot of Preds coverage.

The phrase being used is "He will come back when he is ready." No real time tables.

Well I know that when Lombardi, and/or Goc returns that Spaling is gonna be sent back down. I dont know whos spot would be taken after Spaling. But Sulzer will be replaced by Suter in another week or 2 is my guess.

That's actually what I was wondering.

O'Reilly seems to be doing well where he is, so I wouldn't move him.

Do either one of Legwand or Wilson play wing?

Hornqvist O'Reilly Sullivan
Smithson Legwand Ward
Dumont Lombardi Wilson
Kostitsyn Goc Erat

When Lombardi and Goc come back, that's what i would like to see. Rolling 3 Scoring lines and a Shut down line. My reasoning is that the HOS line has great chemistry, you don't mess with that. Wilson was better at wing last season and also the time Goc and Erat played together last year they had great chemistry aswell.

I think that without injuries our offense isn't the flashiest, but it sure is one of the hardest working ones and that's what gets us the W's

I thought we all agreed - Leggy wouldn't get saddled with Smitty this year!? Someone needs to tell Trotz, I guess......
and given the way Toots has played, if we rolled those lines, we might get Toots instead of Smitty......

hehe, well since Smithson is one of our main pkers, i would take him over toots. And hey i don't want leggy playing with Smithson either, but if it's a shut down line, then that's what it is.

Definitely not run of the mill prediction. You deserve bonus points for that.

The last time the Predators lost by a 6-1 score: 10/14/2009 (vs. Edmonton)
They only lost by a 5 goal margin 3 times last year (< 4% of their games).

The Predators rarely find themselves out of a game, and I don't expect tonight to be any different for them.

I think the Blues will come out hard after us. If we can keep them off the score sheet early then we can hold them off.

I agree about Tootoo. He's having a great year. Honestly, if Lombardi and Goc were to come back right now, I'd have to bench SK. Too many other guys playing good hockey right now.
