Team Swap: Habs for Oilers

Let's say one day you woke to news that the the Oilers / Habs swapped teams.

What would be your reaction?

Of course, this would never happen... but it does shed some light on the reality of picking high in the draft.

I'm not saying the Oilers will be better than the Habs this year -- but watching them last night was hell of a lot more entertaining than seeing Gomez lose puck battles.

The only player that I'd absolutely hate to lose on the habs right now is PK Subban... But I'd prbly still make the swap.

So, Would you do it or not?

MODS -- if you can, plz add a Poll (no clue how) .. or at least inform me on how to do it.

I see the season has officially begun.

If swapiness was an option, I'd like the choice of some other teams.

No I wouldn't swap now or later.

Is it a choice between 3/4 of the Habs team(minus Cammy Markov and Hamrlik) and Edmonton or a full Habs lineup?

i'd do the swap.

18 of the 26 players on the active roster are home grown

Sure the oilers have some "cool prospects" up front, but from what I know it's about all they have.. I wouldn't swap our team for theirs today.

I would. They have a franchise player, Hall, and we don't. It's that simple.

thanks for the insite.

so the habs should tank for 5 years and draft high so they can win the cup.

that would go over very well

and Eberle and Svensson which aren't far from being franchise players. It's a tough call but it would certainly be entertaining to watch them play, last night's Oilers game was good

while we're living in fantasy land let's just combine both teams!

Hall-Plekanec-Cammalleri
Hemsky-Gomez-Gionta
Eller-Gagner-Paajarvi
Moen-Horcoff-Penner

Markov-Subban
Hamrlik-Whitney
Gilbert-Gorges

Price
Khabibulin

WOW WHAT A TEAM, A++++ would buy from again

So basically you want the rewards of tanking for a number of years, without having to suffer through the actual process?

Weird time to say that as Khabibulin played amazing last night while shutting out the Flames.

As for switching teams, I'd say no. Even though I think the Oilers are going to be a fun team to watch for years to come. With the new additions we have made, I'm happy with our team and look forward to seeing their progression as they develop more chemistry amongst each other.

I am serious.

For a rookie D-Man, what does he need to do more to be considered a potential super star?

Voted ask me in May.

I would like to swap certain players right now but that's about it. Hemsky, Foster, and Penner would look great in our line-up as well as Dubnyk. Swapped for Auld, Moen, Spacek and Halpern.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Hemsky
Penner - Gomez - Gionta
Pouliot - Eller - Kostitsyn
Darche - Boyd - Lapierre
Pyatt

Markov - Subban
Foster - Gorges
Hamrlik - O'Byrne
Gill

Price
Dubnyk

And greener after only one game, and a game against Calgary, far from being a powerhouse...
