Might as well add me to that list.

Given players equal in strength, size, and all aspects of the game, but one is a skilled boxer, I'll take the guy who boxes every day of the week. Although boxing in a ring is different from fighting on the ice, the boxing certainly can't hurt. Knowing how to properly throw a punch, slip a punch, and take a punch are all things that boxers know plenty well.

Funny how this "debate" spawned from someone saying that Gordie Howe would have rearranged Ovechkin's face. Discounting the statement about Howe's boxing skill, you disagree?

I'd like to see Cam Neely vs Brendan Shanahan.

Why? It'd just be Boogaard punching a turtle?
Probably should have specified no robocop shoulder pads or car-windshield sized visor. He can turtle all he wants as long as he's exposed enough to receive the beating he deserves.

Can you clarify why you believe that the onetime undisputed heavyweight boxing champion of the world would have been a poor hockey fighter? That's like saying that a NASCAR driver can't handle a cab.

Cam Neely vs. Ulf Samuelsson - too see Cam beat the living **** out of the *******.
Cam Neely vs. Alex Ovechkin - one generations power foward who could do it all vs. another generations power forward who is afraid of being touched when he isn't initiating the contact. Boy would it be awesome to see Ovechkin cower after Cam tuned him up.

I don't think Ovechkin is scared of much. Sure, Neely would destroy him but come on. Actually, an Ovechkin/Kovalchuk fight might be pretty good.

Crosby Vs. Ovechkin at center ice of the 2011 Winter Classic, light snow falling, crowd roaring, the two meet at center ice, square up, remove their helmets and go toe to toe.
