Win! Janus saying I don't give a **** who Tokarski and Desjardins are. 40 saves and 14/16 saves in the Shootout. What a game. Now nobody has to explain to Yzerman how they lost to the Red Wings.
Tampa Bay - Dana Tyrell - (Unsportsmanlike Conduct), 2 min, 1:2
Maybe punishment for whatever he did?
Very possible. Unsportsmanlikes aren't given out very often, so whatever he did was probably pretty far out of line. Especially as it seems to have been a nasty game where not a whole lot of penalties were called.

The longest shootout in NHL history was 15 rounds.
Yeah but this started off with 5 rounds instead of 3. If not for this it would have been over in the 3rd round. Also some players were allowed to go more than once even though everyone had not shot yet. Still pretty impressive that it did last 16 rounds.

I'm not too familiar with the Traverse City tournament, but 5 shooters (and the ability to reuse them) mirrors the way shootouts were handled in international hockey around the time the camp was established.
This also pre-dates the NHL's use of the shootout of course.
Now, international hockey is down to 3 shooters, but that came after the NHL did it (08ish)
“I do [see myself as a leader in this tournament]. I think it’s a big advantage for me having been [in the NHL]. I know what it takes and played against older, stronger players. I have to be able to parlay that to these guys to show them how a professional acts. There are a lot of guys here from Norfolk, too. But mostly we have junior or college players. I want to be able to show them how professionals act – on-ice as well as off-ice – to help the team have success in that way.”

On the success of his line with Carter Ashton and Brett Connolly:
“All three of us played in the WHL, so we all know each other’s styles. [Ashton and Connolly] are two pretty gifted offensive players and I tend to be a little more defensive. I told them that I would play ‘D’ and they could use their offensive skills. I think we worked well the first game. Brett got two goals for us. We need to keep that up and contribute more every game.”
Well Mr. defensive (and Connolly) is leading the team in points and a point behind the tournament leader.
Well somebody is buggering up the stats. TBL feed has the Lightning 17-10 in shots. Also point streak say both teams 0 for 0 on PP, but 1st goal was a PP goal.

It seems to me that we have a very weak defense. In every game is a lot of shots on our goal.
and
Ashton scores! Vachon with second assist.
Tampa Bay - Carter Ashton (Marc-Oliver Vachon) 8:33
Yes our defense still needs help. We have a few bright spots on D, but there few and far inbetween. I hope our next draft we draft a D-man in the first round to really shore it up. Unless of course one of our guys has a break out season.
