Girardi is a good hockey player, 3rd/4th d-man.....if you can't see that you should really watch the rangers a lot more.

Dont worry, just give it a few games and Eminger will show torts how bad he is, and he will be removed for Gilroy at some point...

Can't everyone give the players who made the team a chance to show they belong here before we bash them? Lets wait 10 games into the year before we start the bashing... its a fresh start. Give the team a chance

Sauer and McD should have been the pairing.
I believe that this is all about who has options to go down. Sauer would have been claimed if waived, probably by the Islanders. I bet that Gilroy or Sauer will be dealt soon........Sauer possibly after he plays with the big club for a bit. They should leave Gilroy in Hartford until he is ready.

Eminger loves boarding players. He's done it to Ponikarovsky and he has even done it to Jagr when Jags was with us.

Right on. I watched the preseason games. It may not have been entirely clear who should be playing in the bottom pairing left d position (between McDonagh or Valentenko, either would've been a justifiable choice), but it was clear who should not be playing:

Steve Eminger.

EDIT: Of course, this may just be part of Sather's mandate to include one defenseman that fans absolutely loath each year. In that case, Eminger will carry the torch of his honored predecessors including:

Wade Redden
Marek Malik
Sandis Ozolinsh

I wonder if Lalime is starting because Chicago is in Buffalo Monday Night and that would be 3 games for Miller in 4 days, yeah it is the beginning of the season but I could see us starting Lalime in one.

Either way good luck to the Rangers, Derek Boogard is a friend of my brothers and a nice all around guy and he seems VERY Happy about the move to New York.

Definitely excited about the first game of the season, feels like it has been forever. Should be a good game tonight especially with two solid goalies go head to head.

Let's Go Rangers.

So when is the actual game gonna start? Since it's the Sabres home opener I'd guess there's some ceremony before (banner raising) and the game won't start at 7:08 like it usually does, right?

I love the yanks but I'm the same way man, there's just something about hockey that makes me want to watch it over essentially anything. My housemates bought me a canadian flag and covered my bed with it because they said I'm a cop out for switching between pitt/philly and the yanks game the other night

Haha definetly...lets not fool ourselves, hockey is 10x more entertaining from end to end than baseball. Plus after the Rangers game is over, the Yankee game will still be in the 6th inning.

As someone who really doesn't like Girardi, I disagree with this. I think this is the perfect situation for him, as it has him focusing on the only thing he's really good at -- defense. When Girardi starts thinking offense, he loses his concentration and plays like ****. Keeping him thinking defense and only defense will help his game out a LOT.

Not going to lie I even watched rangers pre-season games over some very good college football games. And the 6th inning? The game should end around 930 and if that's the case the yanks game will only have been going on for an hour meaning they'll still probably be in the 1st inning with the way they play haha
