isles projected lineup:
Comeau - Tavares - Parenteau

Moulson - Nielsen - Hunter

Bailey - Weight - Niederreiter

Gillies - Konopka - Sim

unsure on defense but here are the guys. gervais will sit out im sure but unsure who will with him.

Eaton, Gervais, Hillen, Jurcina, MacDonald, Martinek, Mottau, Wisniewski

dipietro will start and rolli will back him up.

streit is out for 6 months, okposo for 3 months and schremp for 1 month. so the isles lineup lacks its top two skaters. its a shame.

what does the dallas lineup look like?

That's an exceptionally dreamy pic of Neal Lobo. Hadn't seen that one before.

If Raycroft starts tonight... major letdown.

I found it yesterday morning and figured it would be perfect for today's game.

Kari's starting, sanity prevails.

Hillen and Gervais are scratched for NYI which seems a bit odd. Hillen moreso.

yeah, Hillen seems like a guy that is atleast competent on the PP, which is something you'd think the Islanders would want with Streit out.

I think this game will be alot tighter than people think - it's a classic sleeper opponent that looks wounded but ends up giving you a bit more than you bargained for. Despite missing their best defenceman and arguably their best forward, the Isles still have plenty of young talent that will be pumped up for their first game. Dallas has to be ready.

It's not really. It shouldn't be too much to ask your top line to outscore the opposition at even strength, and last year that didn't happen.

Last game the top line and our second line outplayed their counterparts on the Devils. If we can have that advantage on a nightly basis it is huge, because along with the depth we have on our 3rd and 4th lines it presents major matchup problems for the opposition.

Aren't we inexplicably bad against the Isles over the past couple years? I seem to remember always losing to them over the past 6-7 years.

Just kidding. We lost 5 straight from 2001 to 2006, but have won the last 3 meetings. Way to go me, making myself feel old.

I like Segal more, but he honestly wasn't much of a factor last night. Sutherby on the other hand was very good.

From Heika:

I like Segal more, but he honestly wasn't much of a factor last night. Sutherby on the other hand was very good.
Last night the fourth line only really contributed to that minute or so in the 3rd where they kept the puck in the Devil's zone for a good minute and a half, otherwise they were invisible. Sutherby actually had a bad game IMO just because his turnover caused the first Devils goal against.

I think Barch in tonight is just to have a fight. I think Crawford felt vulnerable when no one was there to fight when Clarkson went after Ott. The guy sitting next to me even said that "Ott is the only enforcer Dallas has." Knowing we don't want Ott to fight, it needs to be Sutherby or Barch.

I definitely remember those days. We went quite a while, if I do remember correctly, without beating any of the New York teams up there.

well I'm not really happy about Krys Barch being in. This was the sort of game where a depth player with some offensive ability could make a difference, because the Islanders do not have great defensive depth.

It could be a move with Zenon Konopka in mind, the guy that got in the most fights last year. Konopka is not a big guy and is not a NHL calibur player but he has a spot in the lineup anyway. I guess Crawford feels like he wants a guy that will answer the bell if Konopka starts taking some liberties with Dallas players.
