LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! I've always loved Hordi, he's a very solid fighter, and I'm glad he's coming back!

Well um, I do love Hordichuk and would be glad to have him back, but then why did we bother signing Peters? We just needed trade bait? If this is true that's quite the upgrade.

This is actually confirmed according to the Vancouver board, and it makes sense considering Paetsch was waived. Logic says that Hordichuk becomes the extra forward.

Peters was on a 2 way contract, but I don't think Hordichuk was, so by default he makes the team as a healthy scratch/extra forward. He's an actual heavyweight enforcer, as we all know.

Yep, the main board has it confirmed as well.

I think it's a good move. Peters was probably not going to get much time here, so if Hordichuk stays up the entire year, then I'm glad we did this deal.

I used to love Hordichuk when he was a panther, but seriously, I don't really think this affects the team a whole lot.. Except we acquire a nice little agitator who can be included in the rotation.

This is pretty much what I think. It's probably not going to make a huge difference, but in the games he plays...I'd much rather have Hordichuk than Peters. Hordichuk can actually fight heavyweights, and I think he always brought energy on the 4th line in his time here. If we're comparing him to our last couple of enforcers, I think he's a better skater than Belak/MacIntryre, so maybe DeBoer plays him a little more.

Hordis actually a pretty good hockey player. I'm stoked about this and I'm glad we were able to pick him up, especially at such a low cost.

No...he's really not. I've seen a lot of him the last 2 years, and he's a lot of things, but a 'pretty good hockey player' is not one of them. He's a decent skater, hard on the forecheck, and he's always game to drop the mits...but that's about it.

I love the Canucks management, they trade players instead of burying them to keep them in the NHL

For an enforcer he is. Keep in mind we've had Steve MacIntyre and Wade Belak as our past two heavies on this team. Hordichuk looks like Crosby compared to those schmucks.

No, he doesn't. He's taken a step back since he's been here, but DeBoer wants fighters who can play, so we'll see with him.

What else do you want from an enforcer who gets limited ice time on the 4th line? Sounds like a player who does his job to me. Plus, not to sound like an ass, but we don't need a scouting report on Hordichuk. He's already played here before; the fans that like him, like him because they already know what he can bring to the team.

What the ??? You need to read before getting so defensive.

I never said I wanted anything else out of an enforcer. Darcy is a great enforcer and I never said otherwise. He does his job as a enforcer well.

I questioned when someone said that he was 'a pretty good hockey player'. He's not.

He's a well bellow-average hockey player, and a good enforcer.

As far as a scouting report goes, I'm truly sorry for providing a tiny shred of insight on a guy that hasn't played on the Panthers in almost 7 years.

Which part of that isn't good hockey?

I'm sorry; it's just you mentioned those qualities, and made it sound like a bad thing by saying "that's about it." Apparently, I wasn't the only one confused as someone else has already responded to your previous post.

I do agree with what you just said, though.

The part when he attempts to play the puck.

Yeah, definitely.

It was just confusing because it seemed like you were gonna knock him, but then you said pretty positive things about him. But yeah, i don't think anyone is gonna disagree with your assessment.

Good trade...I think the main thing is that hordichuk is a better hockey player than Peters and from what I have seen a better fighter.... Glad to have him back!
