Any proposals to the Ducks for a Top 4 D-man

Anyone out there have any proposals or deals for the Ducks to get a top 4 d-man before the season gets even uglier?

and if you want Fowler back in return, i may just smack you haha

(Not sure if they did or not...) but The Ducks should of gone hard (or harder) after Willie Mitchell.

Getting 1 or 2 solid, defensive defensemen would do them a world of good, then build from there.

Bieksa is always available. Doubt he would be of much help, though.

Should have traded for Souray, who would have come dirt cheap when they had the chance.

finger on re-entry waivers?

despite what people say, i dont think he is nearly as brutal as people claim. if he were making $1.7 million people would probably love him. if you take him on re-entry you would only need half right? it would be a good bandaid and you wouldnt give up any assets.

Honestly, a defensive d-man that can eat up 20-25 minutes a game, Anaheim is not that picky right now

Any interest in Hamrlik or Spacek?

Hamrlik is back tomorrow and Markov back on Saturday (according to Team 990), so the Habs will have a surplus of defensemen.

I'd be happy with either as both are turning UFA's pretty soon. But a top 4 defenseman won't help the Ducks until they actually cares to put in some effort during the games.

Guy is jumping the gun a little, but here are the conditions that the ducks have. Needs to be top 4, not bottom pairing that can play in the top 4. Has to be salary neutral since we have a budget, we can take a higher cap though. Should be on nothing longer then a 2-3 year deal. Fowler, Sbisa, Gardiner, Palmieri, and Holland are untouchable.

Here's the problem -- Anaheim is problably budgeted out (or else they wouldn't have moved Wisniewski for a 2nd round pick).... so any trade that the Ducks make will most likely have to send close to equal salary the other way.

While I'm sure all 29 teams would like to take Ryan, Getzlaf or Perry off your hands, I'm also sure that Anaheim isn't going to trade them. From there, you've gotta ask yourself what teams want any part of Teemu Selanne at 1 year and $3.25m + $1.25m, or Joffery Lupul at 3 years and $4.25m, or Jason Blake at 2 years and $3m with a $4m cap hit.

Any player that the Ducks would theoretically end up getting would have to be a bad contract, because they'd have to get the other team to take one of theirs.

So what I'm getting from this thread is that the Ducks want a Top 4 dman without giving up anything of actual value? Good luck with that.

Brandon McMillan, Matt Clark, Mark Mitera, Nick Bonino, Nick Deschamps, Justin Schultz are prospects that could be moved. NHL Players would be Marchant, Lupul, Blake, Sexton, Mikkelson, and Festerling.

Except we don't have the room in the budget to eat Komi's salary.

Agree to put in a claim for Souray on recall, then work out a trade for Koivu for a draft pick if claim is successful.

Salary:
Souray - 4.5m this year and next (each team pays 2.25m if claimed on waiver recall)
Koivu - 2.5m this and next.

Anaheim actually saves cash.
