I have to say Im not sold on Santo as the 2nd line center. i think rhino should be manning that spot.
I thought that second line was great. We just need someone to finish some chances. We had them pinned in their zone every time that line came out. I'm not saying Reino shouldn't be there, or couldn't be there, just saying, they seemed to do well as a line.

We can say this for a lot of players. The effort is there, we're creating chances, but the players just couldn't put the puck in the net.

He didnt really do anything that would cause PDB to take him out of the lineup though. So while he didnt put up any pts, so did the whole 1st line (Booth got his pt being double-shifting on the 4th line).

Praying for a breakout season out of Olesz, you know... He has been working good last night, hope he can keep it up !
Go Panthers Go !
I'm not sure what you mean in the bolded statement. He was over 50% on faceoffs which is fairly good compared to guys (including Reino) who have been in the same spot. Matthias & Weiss were both awesome though in the faceoff circle winning 72.7% and 70.6%, respectively.
I'm really hoping the Cats bounce back from an undeserving loss last night, but this would be one of the toughest tests possible. I'm not expecting a win against Mr. Roberto, but stranger things have happened. I want to see that intensity from last night, which looked like a completely different team from last season.

Panthers roll out same lineup against Luongo and the Canucks tonight in Vancouver. 10pm on Foxsports florida.

I was all for Grabner being picked up since it seemed like a no risk type move. I see why teams have been frustrated with him though. He is a floater. I know the icetime has been limited, probably by design, but he does not engage in the play enough.
We looked really good last night, but once again FINISHING seems to be the issue. To be honest, I was pretty pissed because Horcoff's goal was clearly a kicking motion (The angle from the side showed him distinctly making a kicking motion), and I KNOW we've had those calls go AGAINST us before, so I call definite ******** on that. But whatever, what's done is done. Let's go out hard against the Canucks tonight get ourselves our first win!
Grabner was invisible, aside from one shift when he got the puck with some open ice and was able to use his speed. He got a great shot off, and Lundquivst made a good glove save on him. It was in the 3rd period.
my comment on santo isnt just based off of his play last night. i just am not sure that he has earned it. im not calling for him to be scratched or anything yet, im just saying it is something to keep an eye on. im not sure why PDB is going with hordi over rhino either. hordi sat most of the last game and was replaced by booth most shifts including the 2nd goal of the game. it makes more sense to play rhino over hordi unless you are expecting a fight, and i just dont think of the nuckleheads as a fighting team.
