I really can't knock The Wade.

His performance here was mediocre to poor but that was clear before we signed him.

Really kinda feel for him after such a great career to go out like this. This pic actually makes me feel a little better. I'm glad he's trying to make the best of it and be a positive influence to our kids.

It's sad how the general public has little to no respect for and a terribly misguided perspective of athletes and what they actually go through over the course of a career.

They make more money = they are not human beings and have no feelings or care about anything.

That's pretty much how it is unfortunately.

i know this , that if i don't do my job i get fired. Wade wasn't doing his job .. therefor we got "fired". plain and simple.

I'm speaking to people's desire to ridicule him (e.g., this thread).

Wade Redden seems to be by most if not all accounts a good person and an honest, hard-working athlete, who achieved an extremely high level of play at the peak of his career, and, unfortunately, had his ability decline relatively early. No more, no less. I don't see how he is worthy of ridicule. Especially from anyone here.

It's sad how some posters judge people over ONE post... That's ridiculous.

That's really a depressing photo to look at. He deserves to be where he is but from a hockey standpoint it's depressing to think about how quickly a guy went from Norris caliber to AHL caliber.

Jonathan Cheechoo is in the AHL also. Redden is not the first and not going to be the last once-good player to be send down there.

Yeah it hurts, but that's life. Everyone goes through something like that at some point and most people don't have the financial security many of these athletes have

I am not judging the OP as a person in general. I am judging the OP's act -- that is, opening a thread that for all intents and purposes was designed to disrespect and ridicule this guy. I am generally considered to be someone with a particularly healthy sense of humor, but I fail to see how Wade Redden being in the AHL is funny.

I was just going to post something very similar. Thanks for saving my time. Sure, their job isn't easy at all. But the above is the truth.

I think we all understand that. But I think that way too many people are clueless when it comes to the whole money thing. No one is every going to pretend Wade will have financial issues. But to assume that this isn't a completely demoralizing thing for him to deal with because of his paycheck is pretty wrong.

There was a time in my life where I was very secure financially, and I was more miserable than at any other point.

So your saying Wade Redden is beyond reproach?

Getting humbled is a way of life. Just when I thought my life was the tops, my leg got run over by heavy machinery 2 months after my daughter was born and my mom passed form breast cancer 6 months after the that.

The appologists on here are a little too much IMO. Political correctness run amock.

The thread, to address Kind of Blue, was to have some fun with a pretty ironic picture. Not for the Wade Redden fan club to come in and scream "racist" which is pretty much the way this is going, which it wasnt ment to be.

But the "Holier the thou's" will always feel the need to correct the "rube's". Thats just the way it is when you feel your POV is paramount to someone you think is a "lesser" person.

Rob

Thats not all dirrected at you , even though I quoted your post. It's more a culmination of the numorus threads where Wade is now some how a victim.

No I don't disagree with you. Anyone who reads my posts on here would know I despise political correctness and agree with all of what you said.

I really was just commenting on how I felt about the whole thing. I don't have any issues with people poking fun. Was more just making a passing comment. Didn't mean for the thread to be derailed.

I'm not sure what I'd caption the picture at...Would have to involve that position he's in though.

I gained some respect for him for going to the minors instead of running to Europe. Sucked it up well... It seems.
