We had a lot of odd-man rushes, but with two games in two nights, we just have to regroup and be ready for Tuesday."

In the second period, I don't know if we had a lot after 12 or 13 minutes gone. There was nothing at the end of the second period, and then in the third period they really checked hard and didn't give us too many quality chances after that."

No nervousness whatsoever in the first game of the season, which kind of caught me a little bit. I thought maybe something would be there, but he was composed, he made plays, he competed, he had great scoring opportunities. He makes little plays happen in the offensive zone. He's going to be a really top player in the game. He plays that skill game, along with some grit and edge to it, so as he matures he's going to be a dynamic guy for us."

It's all about this young guy getting an opportunity to play with one of our best players, maybe our best player, in Kopitar. I like him in the middle of the ice, because he's a very skilled player who handles the puck and makes plays, but playing with Kopitar on the left side, when you do get in the offensive zone, there are a lot of reads that they make off each other, so you're not in a fixed position at that time. I hope that he has the puck on his stick as much as what we saw in the training camp."

Let's hope we have better success in this year's home opener than we did last year. Let's also hope that we fair better against Atlanta. I'm so pissed I'm going to miss this game. I have tickets to a concert and bought the tickets months before the Kings schedule was announced. Funny enough, the concert is in LA, so I have to drive there, but not for the game!

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...

This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?

- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !

There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

(Glad you guys didn't waste money on Kovalchoke. Jersey had to play 3 men short today because of cap issues!)

Funny you should say that cuz they were giving me a whole bunch of **** on the main board when i posted that Kovalchuk could be the reason why they don't win the cup after one devils' fan said that he would be the reason the KINGS wouldn't win....

At least we can ice 4 full lines...

LOL @ the (0-2-1) devils

"Like the local atom team whose players end up going to a birthday party instead of the Saturday morning game to leave the squad a little short of personnel, the New Jersey Devils ended up looking decidedly youth league in Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with just 15 skaters.

It was yet another embarrassing turn for one of the NHL's allegedly elite franchises.

A combination of injuries to Anton Volchenkov and Brian Rolston, a one-game suspension to Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond and chronic salary cap mismanagement by the Devils exacerbated by Ilya Kovalchuk's 15-year, $100 million contract meant the Devils were forced to play with three fewer skaters than the league rules call for in their Columbus Day tilt against the Pens. " Scott Burnside-ESPN.com.

Smyth - Stoll - Williams eh ?????

the helpless line shuffling start really soon this season.

What has Schenn done not to deserve the 2nd line center ???
This si why this franchise will never be successfull.

Even at this point Schenn is better than Stoll and i have to listen to crap like
"we want to see what our youngster can do before we take any trading action"

Well............ could anyone explain me what exactly they want to see ?????
Stoll is clearly outplayed by Schenn. It's just a matter of time when he starts scoring.
He had so many great chances and he will score his 1st very soon.

Seriously, Stoll has no vision and where the idea of a great shot comes from is way beyond me.
