You are correct. He was called up last year by Colorado but didn't actually play.

Can I start watching a game from the beginning after it's already started? Or do I have to wait for it to be archived?
How long does it take for a game to be archived?

A big problem for me is that I have 3 teams getting local coverage here, so there's going to be quite a few blackout dates.
I don't subscribe to it, but I used it for the free trial they had the other day.

The quality can be run out of a television... somtimes. It would periodically shift between high and low quality based on the available bandwith. When it's high quality it's pretty nice, though.

It's just streaming until the game gets archived, so no rewinding to the beginning. No idea on when games get archived as that aspect wasn't available in the trial.

Depth on D or lack of depth on D in the organization:

Patrick McNeill (L), injured, rehabbing from off-season shoulder surgery; 0 NHL GP

Lawrence Nycholat (L) - AHL contract; if signed by Washington and if he makes more than $105,000 on his contract with Hershey, he would require re-entry waivers to play for Washington this season; 50 NHL GP

Brian Fahey (R) - 29yo, no NHL GP

Zach Miskovic (R) - 2nd year pro, 0 NHL GP

Sean Collins (R) - 2nd year of 2 year contract; requires re-entry waivers; 15 NHL GP

Other Washington D contracts: Finley (Hershey; L); Godfrey (SC; R); Stevenson (SC; L)

Even if....Pothier would have to clear waivers before he could play...and since he wasn't on them today...no dice.

The Pothier ship sailed.

So Laich is the option with the most NHL experience on D that won't require a new contract/waivers.

This is idiotic.

Few aren't.

I wonder if we can jury rig it so that Alzner skates on the right despite 3 openings back there.

lets make alzner play with a right hand twig. there done.

I wish we'd dispatch Sloan and roll with Collins for a while. Maybe after McNeil gets back. send down Sloan. I just think we can get a 7/8D man if someone is desperate enough to take ours. Doesnt Sloans contract scare away potential waiver claims?

Maybe Alzner and Collins have some chemistry from Hershey?

George is too much of a D horder to risk losing sloan or collins.

Has anyone ever considered Semin on D?

- Long reach

- More hockey sense then anyone on D right now

- Great passer (First pass sauce)

- Good Skater

- Rocket shot

Why not?

He would likely get overpowered by opposing teams forwards and take way too many dumb stick penalties.

Not everyone can play at a high level while skating backwards. There's a reason why even lower level NHL forwards like Chimera can make high level forwards like Alfreddson spin around like a top.

And that doesn't even get into anything physical.

How long does it take for a game to be archived?

A big problem for me is that I have 3 teams getting local coverage here, so there's going to be quite a few blackout dates.
I output gamecenter to a 42inch 720p lcd tv all of last year and it looked great. There's something up with my account this year and I can't see games at the moment, but I did re-subscribe.

It generally takes 48 hours for the games to appear in the archive. I think that's probably contractual. Something that they say they support this year is choosing which audio feed to watch. This is a god-send if true this year because they only broadcast 5 or 6 JoeB/Locker called games last year. There's only so much stan fischler, the boston idiot, the pens douches, etc that you can take. Being able to choose JoeB every night will be nice.

The other thing is that I don't feel at all bad using atdhe.net to find and watch the games that are blacked out. It's just dumb...especially since it's just the nationally broadcast games that I miss. I'm seeing the ads on TV, I've paid for a subscription, etc. If they can't figure out how to count me as a viewer then that's their problem.

Anyone aware if Carlson plans on keeping 74? I'm thinking that he'll try to change to 4 as soon as Erskine moves on.

Tonight also I noticed for the first time Varly changed from 40 to 1, that sucks for people who bought his old jersey, which is why I ask about Carlson

He said he likes 74. He said he probably won't switch anytime soon (they asked at the Caps Con) and Perreault said the same.

He knows he can't get 11, so 7+4 = 11.
